Point taken... However don't dismiss easily what is not readily evident. We all have gone into small rooms at AV shows and gone gaga at huge hulking amps.
The best sounding system I've ever heard was in a cable manufacturing facility in Shenzhen. Granted, it was all vintage stuff but the point is they DO know sound and the quality of components will be determined by demand. As expendable income increases over there manufactuters respond with product to meet that demand. Much of the components that compose the receivers, amps, processors, and speakers we use are made in the PRC. And, as we know, the stuff we like is not cheap or shabbily made. It has become very much a status symbol to have a good system....
