No. It just affects the hdmi resolution. (Allows the hdmi to send full bandwidth signal)Do I need to change any settings in avr with being in mode 1?

Sony 7200 supports 4K upscaling on the Sony. I have the Sony x800 4K player and it does slightly better Blu-ray upscaling than my Samsung KS8000 TV. I originally wanted the Vizio P series in 2016 but got the 65 in Samsung instead. It’s a Sony 7300 I think. But I probably won’t have it hooked up anymore
No prob.Thx man for helping me out
That’s the series I wanted too in 2016, those are supposed to be great TVs n they added hdr to them. I should of waited a year. I was gonna ask you if you had a tv or projector. Ya with NHL coming to Seattle in fall 2021, I’m hoping to get a bigger TV for hockey viewing. For now 65in will have to do.That’s the series I wanted too in 2016, those are supposed to be great TVs n they added hdr to them. I should of waited a year. Your right my Sony does upscale, wasn’t even thinking about thatSony 7200 supports 4K upscaling on the Sony. I have the Sony x800 4K player and it does slightly better Blu-ray upscaling than my Samsung KS8000 TV. I originally wanted the Vizio P series in 2016 but got the 65 in Samsung instead.
You want a 75 or 82? I’ve been thinking 75 although 82 would be awesome except what the q8 n 9 cost for a 82 you might as well get a jvc or Sony projectorYa with NHL coming to Seattle in fall 2021, I’m hoping to get a bigger TV for hockey viewing. For now 65in will have to do.
I may also look at projectors too.
I am hoping to spend in 2021 though. Maybe I can get a bit more then. You want a 75 or 82? I’ve been thinking 75 although 82 would be awesome except what the q8 n 9 cost for a 82 you might as well get a jvc or Sony projector
I have dual HSU VTF2 in my large living room but I have a single Rythmik LVX12 in my small theater room which I’m setting up 5.1.4 in. I do plan to look at adding one more sub after I get my speakers replaced. Then add a larger display in 2021.Don’t you have dual vtf3-mk5’s?
That's planning ahead.Then add a larger display in 2021.
Thx. It seems to be working fine how it’s hooked up now. Seems to me the only way the Xbox will upscale is to have it hooked directly to tv but when it’s like that you can’t get atmos Dolby true hd dts ma on movies, everything is in Dolby digital, unless you know a way to get those. That's planning ahead.
Reckel, if it is all working ignore the following
To get the UHD discs working and HDR for the games the entire chain of connections needs to be Hdmi 2.0/Hccp 2.2.
If this is the case, then the Yamaha needs to be in, as stated Mode 1, for the correct frequency and bit depth. This can be done by the front panel button combo or the much easier web interface 192.1.168.???/Setup, it is in the Advanced section. The "/setup" lets you change anything in the Yamaha, without that part you can pick zones, volume and surround mode. The Tv needs to be enabled for Deepcolour or whatever the equivalent setting is on the HDMI input. Then run the check hdmi on the Xbox One S. You should get ticks across the board.

If the Tv is 4k, then it is already upscale anything that is not 4k. The Xbox and the Yamaha can do the 4K or will pass through 1080 or 720 and let the Tv handle it. Since the TV cannot do the HDR does not mean you cannot get the 4K passed through to the Tv and process the Atmos with the Yamaha.
That’s what I’m using as my Blu-ray player. It works just fine running into AVR via HDMI. There’s a setting in the audio menu that says “let your receiver decode” the audio - make sure this is checked. Only using it for 1080 content though I think the new Xbox X has a 4K player. Some months ago I was considering a new Blu-ray player but unfortunately the Oppos are just too damn expensive. It’ll be interesting to see what new “audiophile” players will be released next year.Anyone using a Xbox one s?
