Has anyone mentioned Ishtar yet? I never saw it, but I remember it being universally regarded as one of the worst movies ever made at the time.
I saw it in the theater when it first came out. Silly entertainment. Not great, but not terrible either. (Like Waterworld, it aspired to be far better than it actually was.)Has anyone mentioned Ishtar yet? LMAODolby, I think you were the only one!![]()
LMAOHas anyone mentioned Ishtar yet? I never saw it, but I remember it being universally regarded as one of the worst movies ever made at the time.
I've always had a certain fascination with bad movies. Now and again I enjoy a movie so bad that it makes me cringe, but it takes a certain gumption and spirit to make something like that (Plan 9 or Legend of Boggy Creek come to mind). On the other hand, the movie I can't remember is usually a technically competent, corporate product, kinda like white soap, that has no heart, no weirdness, bad or no humor, just like other similar movies. I think you brain will die sooner with the latter than the formerNope never saw the movie.
Just wanted to point out, that IMO, that is not how I critique a bad movie.
I would say the way you explained it as a boringly bad movie. (that obviously, did not stick out in your mind as REALLY BAD)
I have seen tons of OK movies (and even boring movies) that I can't remember a thing about.
It is the 1 single movie that sticks in my mind as SO BAD, that it would stick in my mind as WORST movie. (and for me NEVER to watch again)
Waterworld was pretty bad, but any movie with an over-the-top Dennis Hopper usually has a high enough cringe factor to be worth the view. I do admit though that Kevin Costner with gills and all those people fighting over a handful of dirt was quite a sight.I saw it in the theater when it first came out. Silly entertainment. Gills! Mutation! LOL at least it has a few classic lines.Waterworld was pretty bad, but any movie with an over-the-top Dennis Hopper usually has a high enough cringe factor to be worth the view. I actually liked BW 2 better than the first one. But I thought the goth chick was hot, so maybe I'm a little biased. I thought the first one was totally stupid, and not scary at all.My vote on this would have to go with "Blair Witch2: Book of Shadows". I cannot believe it took until page 14 of the thread for it to be mentioned.
There was a good nude scene, but even that was nowhere near enough to make me sit through it. Worst of all, I own it on DVD![]()
NICE!! Good one j_garcia.I think the reason BW2 was mentioned is because nobody saw it besides you
Yeah, we went and saw it after everybody said it was the scariest movie ever. I remember one scene where they woke up one day and someone was missing and there was what looked like a pile of jello outside the tent. We were all hella confused. About 5 or 6 people in the theater were yelling, "What was that?!?!"The first one was pretty bad. All that hype and then a whole lot of nothing... I saw it in the theater too and I think there were about 4 other people there. I never bothered with the second one as a result![]()
Strange, I have seen thousands of movies, but I to, passed on this one.I think the reason BW2 was mentioned is because nobody saw it besides you![]()
Until reading about it here, I had no clue that a BW2 had ever been made. I never understood the critical acclaim that the first one received (in fact, I thought it sucked.)I think the reason BW2 was mentioned is because nobody saw it besides you![]()
