Wondering if this is any indication of where Yamaha is headed

I don’t know how surround systems will survive most people these days don’t even make enough to live on. Retail is terrible and that’s all corporations create they require 4 year degrees for anything better or really hard trades. And student loans are impossible to get rid of through bankruptcy so it’s a debt trap. The country might collapse before audio is Gone.
we’re is the extra money for a home theater coming from??? Just the top 20% of earners once tarrifs hit ??
They should go back to 2.1 ch systems.
I think people can still get a great 5.1 system with AVR + 5 bookshelf + 1 sub for $1.5K, which is what I had back when I was in a freshman in college.

Add a $500 TV for a total of $2K and you can still enjoy a great system.

Sure, it's not as great as a $10K+ or $20K+ system, but it can still be pretty great at $2K.

In days of yore, when Dolby Surround was the big thing, and Fosgate released a processor, to add the surround channel to your stereo setup.... many simply used car speakers for the surround channel, and the power needed for surround was only 25W RMS....

Surround needn't be as expensive as we Nerds have made it...

Just a single back channel with 2 very basic speakers already gives you 80% of the benefits of surround at very little cost.
I-see I used to use a Sony prologic system htib thing. Even with larger speakers hooked to the surround Channels they didn’t do much.

I guess so, cheap stuff can sound good.
I’m stuck with phantom for a while. As for Yamaha I got one in a room I don’t use much and I swore it came with the mic used but the ypao mic vanished. Weird …not sure id get one again. Hdmi broke too junk …some cheap receivers arent good.

As usual, an idiotic self indulgent reply to what you were being told by someone who knows their stuff.

You can get an RSL system like this for 899...add an entry level receiver for 400 and you would have an impressive 5.1 system for 1300 dollars.

Good reason to order online and not bother with stores like bestbuy. Nothing but junk on display there.

Why do you think there is nothing but junk at BestBuy ?
Of course you are totally wrong.
You can build a lower cost system there just as easily.

You know, I cant say much on AVS to you when you post nonsense there....the mods get upset.
That's fine...
AVS can go f*** itself, especially the speaker forums.
Little different here.

Here's a nice example of you being a blubbering fool on AVS, when for some reason you are responding to posts about GoldenEar BRX Bookshelf Speakers.

I have paired the BRX with a $800 Schitt Aegir, $12,000 BMC dac/amp, $1,500 tube amp. All sounded very good to excellent.
I did pair it with a class D gan amp that I shall not name (not AGD, nor Starkriksom, nor Atmasphere) that did not sound good. But this amp did not sound good on my MartinLogan e-stat either.

The old ML motion was not very good, they had AMT. The new ML also uses AMT and is considered excellent.
And your response (that shouldn't exist) as kblackburn101

Ahh the small towers are heavier than what I’m using now so I probably can’t get those if need help carrying them. Maybe someday I can afford to upgrade to the bookshelfs although for mostly movies ascend 340 looks like a more powerful option I need a sub before getting better speakers. Op could consider MartinLogans top bookshelfs. I wish they sold smaller tv stands with space for a center and a avr.

Why do you even post to threads like that ?
And then interject your response with your personal drama.
Do you think that poster cares that you cant lift very much, or that you cant afford anything ?
You are making a total fool of yourself, but you just don't get it.
But...keep it up. Its beyond funny.
