If you want to part with a Hulk 181, I might be interested, depending on price. Mine was stolen.

I have 3 signed and cgc and one in rough shape maybe a cgc 5.5 that I read and has been read, not a collectors piece by any means.. So nothing that would be a great deal... the collection is going to my kids {they actually pretty much have them already since a lot of them are in their bedroom displays..}, so I try not to sell them, I am always interested in trades though. I recently traded an Amazing 129 {first app. punisher} cgc 9.2 {I have 2 other copies, both 9.6} for an Avengers #11 cgc 9.6 and a Daredevil #1 cgc 9.4 both books I had unrated not in the greatest shape. I traded my unrated 2 to the same guy on the same day for an unrated copy of Amazing 3 {first doc ock} in REALLY good shape{Im thinking mid 9's!!!}, I'm going to send it in for rating when I get a few more to send in.... I am looking for a copy of fantastic four #48 rated 9+ if you have one of them guys around {I had one in 8.0 but traded it a while back figuring I would find a 9+ but haven't yet.....

Not looking for graded or collector quality necessarily, more just to have :) And my stuff isn't graded because I collected mainly when I was a lot younger, so that would need to be done. I don't have a lot of FF, but have a few good Amazing, though I would guess not necessarily all in top collector shape. Certainly all of the ones I have, have been read. Only ones I have not personally opened are my X-Men #2 and most of the old Amazings.

Xmen 2 is a good book to have that is in the "key" marvel collection. First app. of the vanisher if I remember correctly or the blob? I think blob was #3... I have x-men 1-70 something and then all the "good' ones to current, I passed on an entire run 94 to 5-- {current} about a year ago for $2500 just because I don't want to give up the room they take up, when I was younger I would have wanted everyone, now I just want the "key" story stuff and the "must haves"... Honestly a 9+ rated xmen one would pretty much finish what I was trying to build, my xmen 1 isn't even worth getting graded, but my 2-66 are all above 9, I was told one of the nicest collections in the world... I would think my wolverine collection is the nicest except I met a guy that has almost every book he has been in and the "key" stuff is all graded he actually has an 82 mini series all 4 books graded 9.9!!!! He also has one of the nicest hulk 180 and 181 sets in the world with a 9.9!! I have seen books that were never touched by human hands not rate a 9.9 lol, never mind a book from 74!!!! So there is always someone out there with a better collection, but i think if I got an xmen1 with 9.6 or so I would have one of the nicest xmen 1-66 runs in the world if not the one... only problem is getting a #1 in anything over a 9.2 lol http://www.cgccomics.com/news/viewarticle.aspx?IDArticle=3463 sold a 9.6 for $250,000 lol, Im not that crazy about having the collection, mine is a strong 5.8 I have seen 5's sell for $5000 and 9's sell for $50K http://www.ebay.com/itm/X-MEN-1-PGX-9-2-Signature-Edition-Stan-Lee-Auto-White-PAGES-/161085978336?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item258178f6e0 so the rating is important...

Yes, 1st appearance of Vanisher. Nowhere near the price range of #1 :) That's pretty crazy that you have a collection like that! I have always been more interested in the key stuff, but I love the series and collected it as a kid for years, making the trek by bike to the local comic shop every week.

I actually am a "fan" of the comic books,

The movies are entertaining that's the point,
Gotta disagree with you there. I can't think of a single positive thing to say about the Wolverine Origins movie. That movie just sucked from top to bottom. Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool? OK I guess he does kinda have that smart-*** persona that you need to portray that guy but he still sucked at it. That dude in a giant fat suit playing Blob? Just randomly throwing in Gambit and the White Queen? The movie made NO sense.

Just like John said there are DECADES of good stories with Logan and the X-men, why not use some of those or at least come up with a story that doesn't suck? The Avengers movie didn't follow any story line that I am aware of but it was still a great movie, (though I'm bummed that they aren't doing Thanos for the next one like they teased).

How about doing The Brood for an X-men movie? That was always one of my favorite story lines. There's so many they could do but they just seem to keep churning out crap.

The Brood storyline was definitely one of my favorite in the X-men series. Probably wouldn't hold up well in theaters though.

The studios are not about entertainment, they are about making money IMO.

See thats the thing, the brood storyline was great and well known amongst "comics guys", but the problem is they need to produce what sells, a love story intertwined with some good action sequences and an end game of some sort, the reason they are staying so popular with the xmen, spidey, and wolvie stuff is they aren't going all out sci fi alienistic bat sh!t crazy with the story lines, believe me if they could write xmen without mutants they probably would, lol... You aren't going to see the demon/devil/dark side stuff in these movies, you are going to see mortal enemies with a tips of the scifi monster stuff, more in spiderman than any other since spidey followers seem to embrace the sci fi side a little more.. And forget ever seeing one of these movies with out some type of love story in it, some attractive couple that is against all odds fighting to be together... It sells and its there to stay.. I dont remember a love story in every issue, lol...

My kids aren't into them as much as I was when I was a kid, believe it or not my oldest son {almost 15} reads amazing spiderman {this month is the issue 700.1} and Xmen legacy my youngest just reads amazing xmen and all new xmen.... They get their books once a month and read them and put them away, but at least its something they read instead of play on that ps3... I am sure when they get my collection they will keep it for a while, and maybe someday they will turn it into money but hopefully after I am gone...

That's definitely a hell of a collection you've got there. I wish I still had the comics back from my heyday as a kid. I had a subscription to Fantastic Four, X-Men, Thor and Dr. Strange for years. I remember they'd show up in the mail with the little brown paper wrapping. It was like X-mas once a month. I know I had the original Star Wars mini-series and the Wolverine 4-part series. Those were probably the most collectible comics I had. Don't know what happened to them. I think my mom got rid of them when I went away to college.

When I was in college and Image first started I had all of the first issues of their comics and about up to #50 of Spawn. But those aren't worth anything since by then EVERYONE was holding on to comics in plastic bags hoping they'd be worth something some day. Oh well.

Surprisingly, the Wolverine 4 part miniseries isn't worth that much, even complete in mint. I read an article the other day that said comic values for issues that were only semi-collectible are worth very little, like the "general series" issues, no matter how many you have. The only things that are still increasing in value are the highly collectible ones, the "key" issues as ImcLoud said, and obviously the originals. Those are still going up.

I collected some odd stuff too, like Aircel, just because I loved Dale Keown's art, years before he moved to Marvel. Worth anything or not, I enjoyed them.
