Reading the HDMI threads here, I see there's considerable expertise. I hope someone can help me, and thanks in advance for your consideration.
Here's my trouble:
I've got an Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro with the HDMI switcher. The two inputs are a PVR sat box and an Oppo BDP-83 and the single output goes to HDMI input 5 of the Pio 141FD. For a few months, all has worked great. I installed the multi-region kit from crtprojectors into the BDP-83 before Christmas, and its also worked great.
Everything is plugged in through surge suppression but not line conditioners. I have a Harmony remote, but also frequently just use the unit's remote.
Recently, the power was interrupted at the outlet for the TV while it was in stand-by(not at the 83 though). I believe the last thing used before the power went out was the BDP-83, but it, like everything, was in stand-by mode too. When the power at the TV was restored, all was just fine except that the Pio would not recognize the signal from the BDP-83.
I've read everything and tried everything I can think of to no avail. Here's what I've tried:
I've tried every setting I can get to on both units. I've restored all settings to default, too. No signal.
I connected the BDP-83 through the sat box input on the switcher, no signal.
I took the sat box and the switcher out of the chain. I went direct from the BDP-83 to the Pio 141. No signal.
I hooked the BDP-83 directly to all the other hdmi inputs on the 141, still no signal.
I've tried different hdmi cables, both through the switcher and direct. In every case, the cables, the TV, the sat box and/or switcher works fine but still no signal input from the BDP-83.
I hooked the BDP-83 to another TV through hdmi and component and the BDP-83 worked perfectly.
I've removed the multi-region kit and restored it back to the original, and the BDP-83 works fine either way on the alternate TV. No signal to the 141 in either case.
I've updated the firmware and worked with Oppo.
My Oppo 980 works just fine through the hdmi switch to the Pio 141.
So.....Pio 141= good. BDP-83= Good. Multi-region= good. Cables= good. HDMI switch= good.
It appears that everything is working fine except the HDMI handshake between the BDP-83 and the Pio 141. The HDMI light on the BDP-83 flashes slightly every second or so when it's hooked to the Pio, but it's a steady light when it's working on the alternate TV. So it makes me think it's a handshake issue on the Pio 141FD side and I don't know how to resolve it.
That's the only thing I can think of anyway. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Appreciate your thoughts and advice.
Mike.
