I have been the happy owner of a Wiim amp ultra for 9 months now. The WAU powers my Fyne F303i front main speakers in a stereo setup. I use this setup for music and movies and TV watching.

I took the plunge and ordered two Wiim sound lite speakers to use as surrounds (along with stands). I set everything up yesterday. Wow! What an amazing system!

It was easy enough to set everything up in the app. The WAU acts as the master. There is a convenient "Enable home theater" slider in the app. It is easy to switch from stereo fronts only, to 4.0 surrounds when watching movies.

I tested the system with several movies yesterday. Really impressive sounding! I am loving what Wiim is offering buyers with their high performance and convenient products. Don't hesitate to add two Wiim sound lite as surrounds if you are in the Wiim ecosystem.

Well I just added a Wiim Sub Pro to the system. Easy to set up and wireless as well!
The sound quality improvement with the subwoofer is great.
I had numerous two channel and surround systems in the last 30 years. Wiim is really bringing quality and budget friendly products to market. The sound quality I am getting from such an inexpensive, and easy to set up system is astounding.

How are you getting multich audio? It's just a 2ch amp afaik. I do see there's some option for usb output for multich, is that what you do?

I don't think you have what you think. There is no way what you have produces 4.0. You only have two power amps. So you have 2.0 + 2.0, but that does not make 4.0, but a mess.

Yall should read up on the product before shitting all over it. The wiim sound lites are powered speakers that obviously work with the wiim ecosystem. The wiim amp ultra (along with a couple other devices) supports 5.1 ch Dolby digital. The OP isn’t just making this up lol

I know that, but he does not list any units that will do what he wants. There are no connections on his equipment list that will produce 4.0.

I don't think you have demonstrated that.

Phillip is correct. I won't get into an internet argument, but it works as a 4.1 system plain and simple.
I don't know exactly how the Wiim Amp Ultra does it, but it decodes AC3 Dolby and works in 5.1 (4.1 on my system).

I remain skeptical that it really does do what you say. The units don't seem to have the correct connections for a start, and I can find no clear instructions on line. I am very skeptical that it does what you say, and want to see hard data.

The sound lite surrounds are on the same WIFI network as the Wiim Amp Ultra. The WAU powers the front mains the usual way with speaker cables. The WAU sends the rear surround information to the sound lite speakers through WIFI. Really simple and clever way to transmit data.

Having read their 49 page manual, I am even more put off the devices. That is the sort of gear I would run miles from. Instructions are very bad and not clear. You have to download their Home App. to do this multichannel and the instruction with that are brief to nonexistent. An absolute shambles and that is putting it mildly.
