Why is the volume of my sub so quiet with my new Crown amp?

I was just looking at the size box of the simple kappa perfect build and the box is 6ft^3 before any displacements.. I have the JL W7 in it now and so that displaces .14ft^3 and the port which is 3" x 12.5" x 55" displaces 1.9ft^3 and the bracing I guessed displaces .50ft^3. So this leaves us with 3.46ft^3 after all displacements and the port is tuned at 22hz! TLSGuy: this is almost the same size box you called for for me... should I just have another one of these made for me for my other W7? Let me know what you think! Oh and by the way I have one of the W7AE's in the simple kappa peerfect build and it sounds amazing!
The Kappa Perfect box has been verified as great for the w7. Just remember to give the pole vent enough room to breath. If I remember you put a really nice veneer on it. Much of this LLT push is insane IMO. If you really want deep performance you need some type of massive horn at the sacrifice of upper bass or a rotary sub. I don't agree with the design premise. A great driver is forgiving, but sticking around Fs gets you the SQ IMO. SQ is king not extension.

The hole for the kappa perfect build was too big so I added 2 front baffles of MDF and that keeps the sub far enough back from the rock wool. I actually had my sub finished in black carpet.. and it really looks kinda nice. Its always dark when I am watching a movie so you cant see much but my projector screen in there. I think I am just going to have another kappa perfect build made for me.... Since my last one is made of MDF should I have the second one made of MDF instead of birch ply so they sound the same?

There wouldn't be much difference in sound. I build with ply because that's what the woodworkers I read use for their projects.

You really got lucky with that didn't you! The Vb and port dimensions are perfect. So you might as well have two subs the same.

Yes, the volume is fine, and the cross sectional area of the ports is almost identical. You very seldom get that lucky!

There have been a lot of people for sometime looking for a replacement for that Kappa Perfect VQ driver. I guess you stumbled into it!

Have you tried modifying the input sensitivity on the amp? It seems that you can do it through the menu.

This is 5 years old! Plus, he was using gen 1 Crown XLS drivecore amp, no adjustment for sensitivity.
