AVR is best at decoding multi channels for movies but it doesn’t recreate the best sound quality which is very noticeable for music as the human voice and piano are the hardest.
Keep posting to every thread...sooner or later someone will agree with you ! :)

Even local streaming is not perfect. I've had my Roon server shut down inexplicably or Plex wants an update. The only device that never fails is my DVD/CD player. :D
local stream is closest to perfection on the Eversolo dmpa6 which has an ssd card that’s inside the eversolo , so there’s no local network issue between the streamer and music server because there’s only 1 unit.

dvd/cd player may not fail but a scratched disc or dirty read len or dancers in the room will cause the playback to pause/skip.

Well the WiiM is all hooked up and streaming nicely via my iMac but I'm not having success with getting the connectivity paired with my cell phone (Samsung android A42). Apps are installed but unable to pair the phone with streamer ??

So you believe that AVRs only sound good for multi-channel sources?

What do you believe sound better for 2CH music than AVR?

A $1k+ standalone DAC (I prefer r2r) and a $1.5k+ standalone amp combo have better specs than most AVRs, and the sound quality will probably be better.

For an AVR of the same price, OEMs have to pay for licensing of Dolby Atmos, HDMI, etc. so there's less money to devote to the DAC and amp so they aren't as high quality.

There are a lot of misconceptions about potential "network issues" and audio quality. On a properly wired network, there are ZERO transmission errors. Think how disastrous the computer industry would be if data could get randomly corrupted. You could never trust any file transfer to be 100% accurate. Data integrity has always been top priority in network designs so there is no corruption that takes place between a music server and streamer. Not on a wired network anyway. Even WiFi is very reliable until you exceed the distance limits and most adapters will drop the connection if data integrity can not be maintained.

Physical discs have to be in bad shape before they start to skip. Like computer networks, the readers in CD and DVD payers have built in error correction so any small read errors by the pickup laser get corrected in software and the output is bit perfect. It is only in the worst case scenarios that bit errors become an issue.

I've been using Android to access my Church streamer for our Carillon bells without issue with Amazon Music and our proprietary scheduling software. I had early issues when my Bluetooth connected to a second device, which shouldn't have mattered.

Puts a nerd cap on the head. Akhtually, the wired network could have errors in transmission, but between built-in error checking, automatic packet re-transmits, and buffering in media client side, the end result is the same - regardless of wired or wireless connection, there would be NO errors in data stream. Wireless connectivity could be slower or none-functional, but if it is functional (even very slowly) - no transmission errors are guaranteed.
