Which subwoofer would be a good partner in crime with the Senheiser Ambeo Max

I am using Senheiser ambeo max soundbar in a 20 square meter room and I am looking for a subwoofer that would work well together with that sound bar.

I am not interested in getting the Sennheiser subwoofer because the stop-gapAmbeo Max is just a stop gap solution. the living room is going to be renovated in summer and after the revamp of the room I plan to sell the Sennheiser Soundbar to get a avr and a pair nice home theater floor standing speaker plus a Center Channel speaker to get a real 3.1 set up. I plan to use the subwoofer for my future ht system as well to avoid the purchase of another subwoofer as soon as I get rid of the soundbar.

Would be glad to hear hear some recommendations.

My budget is between 1000 and 1600 euros. My location is Austria

Thanks for the help in advance.

Not sure matching to the Ambeo is important if you will be building a good 3.1 system. A sub would not really meet up with Ambeo anyway without localization. Sound bar owners don't care about these sort of issues. So I would choose the sub now for your next system as it will mate with Ambeo as well as anything and probably better than a cheap sub. You are in Austria, and your selection will be very different from US availability. Most of s do not speaker German, so it would be hard to know what is available to you.

Thanks for your reply. Well, we have lots of brands at our disposal. SVS, Klipsch, Arendal, Rel, Yamaha, Polk.

It is also to get German brands like Nubert, Heco, and Canton.

These are the brands that are obtainable easily.

Do you already own the Ambeo? I ask because that soundbar is much more expensive than what you've budgeted for the sub. I would get a less expensive stop gap solution and spend more on the sub(s).

I don't know what EU pricing is but your best bet would probably be something from Arendal or SVS that fits your budget.

Then the three to consider, are Arendal, SVS and REL and forget the rest.

Yes I have the ambeo since 2023. SVS or aredale subs are within in my budget range. Of course, it depends on the model.

The SVS PB 2000pro would be within my budget range. I have not checked which of the Arendale subs would be within my price range.

Check their outlet selection for the 1961 series they still have in stock.
