Which sub or subs would work best for me?

yeah imo go big , I wish ida not got my 10” klh instead of the 12” or 15” I use it and a another 10” sub . My larger room sub has better sound quality then either .
I’d move it downstairs but cable tv ehh poor audio quality and it’s too big too fit .

One 15” is like two 10” . One may be enough for a while , two 12” is a good option too , if the 15 is too heavy . 15 is superior tho , less distortion . If you live in USA I’d get two hsu 15” Whichever model you like more ..
paradigms aren’t better subs , but if you prefer them does dealer have 15” do they ever offer any discount?

3 10” defiance cost more then two 15”, svs pb4000 or 3000 is another nice sub too smaller then 15”.
can you compare each size at the dealership?? How much weaker is the 12 then 15”??
Just get whatever you prefer and if your in USA there’s ton of options.

Going with 2 lesser powered subs will ALWAYS beat out a single more powerful sub because you can place the subs in such a manner that will even out the bass response across a wider listeninb area.

Yeah unless you go for a 15” then add another, but two 12” is probably better then one 15” . Tho not always !!
Some 15” are more powerful then 3 10” subs . So it depends on models compared pb4000 is a beast despite only 13.5” woofer , I can’t afford one .
Two 15” is optimum for most medium rooms ,but some smaller subs are very capable !!!
I’m using a sealed single 15” in bedroom as it’s tiny . 15” is superior lesss distortion then most 12”!!

The only thing that makes sense in your post is that you buy two of the bigger subs over two smaller subs.
I would have hoped that you would have realized that my statement of two smaller subs being better than one larger sub is that the subs being compared are from the same manufacturer and family. I would never suggest buying 2 10" Polk subs at Best Buy beating out one SVS PB3000 subs. However two SVS PB1000 will always be better than one SVS PB3000 in terms of evening out bass response in the room.

Your distortion comments are irrelvant for the following reasons. 1) If your room is small you most likely would not exceed the limits of a smaller 12" sub from the same manufacturer. 2) You keep inferring comparing sub models across different manufacturers. If you want to compare different size subs, compare across the same manufacturer. 3) You fail to specify the parameters around the distortion and lastly, 4) bass distotrtion is very hard to discern.

Your single 15" sub would not be an improvement over my much lesser 2 PSB Subsonic6 subs in my great room because I need as a minimum, 2 subs to even out the bass response in my listening area. There's still much room for improvement for evening out the in room response and not just the listening area, so I'm picking out a 3rd Subsonic6. The point Im making is one stellar big sub will not be as good as 2 smaller subs from the same manufacturer in a difficult room geometry.

your correct due to nulls and bad spots for bass .
Also depends on the sub and some 18-21” subs are such overkill there’s no reason to use them in smaller rooms . I’d rather carry lighter subs also , so not many big subs are under 90 pounds, most are significantly over .

yeah even if two 12” cannot match the same spl they will have a more even response then most 15”. Sealed loses bass output in lower hz too around 20, so ported woofers are better.
I don’t think the psb is even close to the same league of driver , but I cannot find specs for the psb6. I never needed the massive output of ported and didn’t know two 12” was more cone area haha ... or I’d had got 2 12s or one 18”

How are you getting another used ? It’s discontinued also like my sub driver .

Even tho I never maxed out the 15” I still wish ida got the 18”.
This sub is better value then any paradigms , demolishes my sub or multiple 12s. But pro subs are taking over diy also , and who actually needs a 21”? Ic ant find it’s weight, probably cannot even carry it ...
For a 20x20 + size room it would work wonders .
