What speakers and current equipment do you have? What system set up 2.0, 2.1, 5.1, 7.1 ?

What room size ?

Thanks njed...
I have an Energy RC Micro 5.1 setup now that can drive upto 100W/channel. However, I will be moving to a complete HT/floor standing 5.1 expand to 7.1 pretty quick(fixing the $ savings.:)) with new speakers..looking into that as well.

I have the RX-V665 that I am now selling(not to mention it will work with the new setup but...). I need to step above on the receiver so that I will be ready for the upgrade. Hence the wattage req...Where did you get the $695 price...it is tagged at $899 online. One call or else..

Why don't you put all your money into the speakers and drop the receiver upgrade?

Your not going to get a huge gain with your plan anyway.

If you need additional power look at an external amp.
