Moses Patrou - a nice slice of New Orleans style funk with a soulful voice from an excellent percussionist. He's based in New York, with a connection to Madison, WI - my town.

The last CD I bought was actually a collection of 22 CDs.

The Complete Works of Igor Stravinsky. The price had dropped to about $20-25 for the whole thing. Its currently below $50 at either amazon or tower atm, which is still a pretty good deal considering its $2 a disc. I got them for $1 a disc. Classical has some pretty sick deals.

I hadn't bought any music in quite sometime, so went out today and bought some stuff that I'd been meaning to get for awhile

Gov't Mule - Deja Voodoo. Warren Haynes is amazing.

Derek Trucks - Songlines. Another great guitarist.

Ben Harper - Diamonds on the inside.

The Black Keys - Attack and Release. Excellent cd.

Widespread Panic - Earth to America.

Buckethead - Electric Tears. This guy is just outa this world. If you've never heard of him, and you like guitar driven music you gotta check him out.....incredible.

Funkadelic - Maggot Brain. Great Old school Funk.

Mannish Boys - Lowdown Feelin'. Fantastic Blues.

Billy
Against Me! - Reinventing Axl Rose

I just added 3 CDs to my collection. I love many kinds of music, including pop/rock, blues, classical, world, jazz...

The three I just got were from Amazon, three pipe organ CDs:

• "Symphonic Fantasy for Organ" by Joshua Perschbacher
• "Premiere" by Josh Perschbacher
• "Glorious Pipes" by various organists (DG B0003101-02)

Lindsey Buckingham - Gift of Screws. If you can take his brittle, tense singing style, this is quite good. You will realize what an amazing guitarist he is and he also play most everything else on the album (with some help from Mick Fleetwood and John McVee). There are several songs that would have been good Fleetwood Mac tunes. Well worth a listen.

and

Brighter Than Creation's Dark, by the Drive By Truckers - 19 fine tunes, each of which is a small story about some sort of somewhat marginal Southern character. It reminds me of a better produced version of Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska, quieter and darker than other DBT albums, with songs like "Daddy Needs a Drink", but not sacrificing their usual wry wit. I love this one.

Blind Wille McTell ..was an amazing blues guitarist that played slide on a 12 string acoustic and made it soundlike two guitars were playing.

To be completely honest, I dont even remember. I have put many many dollars into the music industry in the past. My CD collections kept getting ripped off or scratched by a carless person, so I stopped buying them.

Hello ChrisJam. Sorry, I haven't kept up with this thread!!! I can't find it now, but both amazon and tower had them, with the latter having the best price.

If you are a classical lover, the complete works of Bach, (I think 155 cd's ?!?), is going for $114 !!

From what I hear, the performances are very good. The Cantatas and organ works get especially good reviews. I believe the Cantatas have more mixed reviews, but there is supposed to be great use of period instruments. The organ works seem to be more universally applauded.

While $114 isn't chump change, Bach is easily my favorite composer, and I might just pull the trigger soon. For me, there's Bach, and there's everyone else.
