What Will You Do?????

Folks, there seems to be a lot of talk about a second "STIMULUS" package. Now with that being said and assuming it happens what will YOU do with the money? Maybe pay off some bills? Perhaps, buy some new gear? Lastly, how much do you think it will be this go around? Will it be basically the same amount as before OR will it be more? What do YOU have to say about this type of governmental intervention? Do YOU believe it will be effective OR just more waste of tax payers money? Looking forward to what YOU all have to say. ;);)

Cheers,

Phil

Since I already just about have my Ascends paid-off, I will put the money towards my 42" LCD. Of course, I also plan to get a BR player too sometime in the very near future. The way I see it, every little bit helps. ;);)

Cheers,

Phil

The economic stimulus money is currently going to the big wall-street banks to pay for the sub-prime loan fiasco and re-establish credit markets. You may benefit indirectly through the traditional Republican “tinkle-down” economics, first coined and popularized by Ronald Regan in the 1980s. See “Economic Impact on You?” thread for further elaboration of this amazing gravity-based economic concept.

You're not getting anything, sorry to say, at least not in direct cash.

Most of what I've heard discussed about this second "stimulus" (I use the quotes because it's now been proven twice in the past 7 years that direct payments of cash don't stimulate ANYTHING) is that it will be manifested in the form of:

- Extended unemployment benefits and healthcare coverage for those who have lost their jobs
- Direct investments in state and local governments to help offset high Medicare costs and escalating budgets
- Public works projects, such as bridges and roads, that are supposed to provide a stimulus by adding jobs and increasing spending

There may be a small cash payment to some taxpayers, but I at this point I would not be betting on it.

Most people will benefit because their companies will now not be forced to sell assets in order to meet payroll. The vast majority of companies in this country have to borrow cash in order to pay their employees regularly (it has to do with the timing mismatch of cash flow) and if banks cannot/will not lend to companies, people will not get paid. Saving the banking system in this country is rightly a much higher priority than almost anything else.

None of this has anything to do with trickle-down economics....

I agree somewhat. However, there is still some talk about a second cash payment from what I garner. You are right, it is doubtful we will get another so my question should read "what will you do if we do get another cash payment?" Besides, it never hurts to dream eh? ;);)

You make an excellent point. I was trying to be politically correct. My plan is to buy the 50 cal...and then find people with water and food. ;) :)
