What type of termination do you prefer for 10 awg speaker wire

Banned
Both are good

Are spade connectors in general better for on-wall configurations over banannas?
Both are good, personal preference. But, you are probably right the spade connections would generally have better physical clearance for on-the-wall configurations. Banana connections would normally be more secure becuase you don't have to screw them down like spade connections.

Some thoughts:

(1) first make sure your connector is very secure ( the newer screw-on types are very good) on the wire.

(2) then you need to make sure you terminal connection is secure. The only negative thing about spade lugs or spade connectors is that you have to make sure your speaker terminals are very tight (good hand tight). If the speaker terminals can unscrew all of the way then then a ring terminal connector is the best!

All my speakers are axioms and their binding posts are excellent. Each speaker came with a little wrench that works perfectly with them. All I needed was one but they came with every speaker:D. Getting the terminals tight will be no problem.

Just wanted to add that the BJC spade connectors are not crimped on. :)

I received a few pairs of spade lugs from BJC a couple of days ago, I have not tried them out yet on my Axiom binding posts, but I will let you know if they fit or not.

I tried the BJC spade lugs on my Axiom binding posts and no dice! The spade connector did not even come close to fitting:mad:. I am a bit disappointed to say the least:(. Good thing I only bought 2 pairs of the spades.

I've got 5 pairs. You know how it's always recommended to buy a rec'r/amp based on your choice of speakers? Well I'm going to buy speakers based on whether or not their binding posts will accept spade connectors from BJC. :D

I tried to attach the BJC spades to another set of speakers I have (an old pair of Altec Lansing outdoors speakers from the 1990's) and the spade lugs did not fit on those binding posts either (the spades are not wide enough to fit around). Alex2507 we are 0-3 right now:(.
