What the hell are you thinking?

This post is directed towards all of the idiots on these pages who in their responses to threads quote the whole damn article and then type 2 freaking words "I agree". I suppose that what I am really getting at is that if you are going to take the time to post a response to a thread that if you have any intelligence at all that you would have read all the previous comments to make shure that you aren't just posting a previously made comment. Thus negating the excessive use of the quotation feature. Furthermore if some of these idiots would quit quoting so freaking much then maybe you could fit more than two or three responses per page saving us all time when looking through posts and less repetitive remarks. Maybe I'm just crazy, or maybe I am just the only one who has thought this far into this. Happy Listening. :)

Maybe some members believe they carry so much tout that they only need to agree with a previous post to validate it. Or maybe it goes back to some of those people who like to inflate their number of posts.??

Who would ever stoop that low simply to inflate their post count?

The word 'idiots' is a little harsh don't you think? People have the right to express themselves just as much as you do. These forums are a great way for people to participate and let themselves be part of a 'community'. Although they might not respond according to your standards/tastes, I think you should cut those 'agree'ers' some slack.

I do conquer with you on the topic of quoting the entire article but I think it's because the forum layout/format makes it difficult to keep on track within a discussion that makes ppl abuse it a little much, more of a symptom of an underlying issue than an intent to frustrate anyone. I have read threads that have gone to more than 3 pages and I find it difficult to keep track of a thread and actually welcome the entire quote instead of jumping back and forth and piece together all the info.

I would appreciate it if any Administrators of this forum would be so kind as to maybe review some of the comments made by SonicEuphoria and others in regards to the forum format and maybe entertain an 'improved experience'?

Thanks in advance.

Nah, inflating post count is done best like this:

"I like pie!"

Then watch as many others respond with: "Mmm pie" or discussions based on pie, or the numerical value Pi, or Pizza Pie, or Pie in the Sky, or Pie's retarded cousin Cobbler, etc...

I agree, well then maybe I don't agree. I will have to give this some more thought.

I personally like using the quotes.

I found the quotes, much like cutting and pasting a customer's email, to be an excellent means of maintaining the thought process and insuring a complete response.

Then again, it is a nice way to use up server memory.

I suspect the "idiots" feel that they took the time to read the thread, it is important that they actually respond.

Which, in a way, is a nice guesture to the original poster, as how would any of us like to post a question or thought, and then have dozens or even hundreds of readers, but absolutely no responses?

We can only do so much in regards to modifying the way the programmers wrote vBulletin (we aren't in the business of writing custom forum software at the moment) but there is a cool feature many of you may not be aware of...

If you want to change the way the forum looks in terms of tracking topics, etc... go up top and click on the "Display Modes" drop down. Selecting Threaded or Hybrid mode will give you a different way to track topics.

Dude, you think way toooooo much. You complain about the above and then go on to "create" an entire new worthless thread? Sweet!

While we are wasting space, I am not sure if the wife and I should eat Italian and Mexican tonight. I love Italian but here in South Texas, we have some really really good Mexican food. Shiner does go good with Burritos? But, some nice wine with some Veal would be nice as well? Hmmmm? Looks like it might be a last minute decision. I get back tomorrow and start a thread on which one we choose. Any recommendations are welcomed.

 :D :p

P.S. I don't really like when people overuse the Smile icons. It's just, well, Tacky.

Thinking of cobbler reminds of one of my all time favorite movies ... "Hell is for Heroes".

There, we got the discussion at least back to a movie.
