Hi, I am new to the site and looking for some helpful suggestions on some speakers.
I gather from reading similar threads that it is very much a personal choice, and you need to listen to them first. The room is about 12' x 25' with 8' ceilings. TV and stereo are at the end of the room. Large speakers would work as well as small ones for the space.
I am upgrading my stuff one piece at a time as budget allows. I started with retiring the Onkyo receiver for a new Pioneer Elite receiver (about $1k). Speakers are next, budget is $1000
I have a cheap 12" JBL sub that will be replaced next year.
My question then is should I go for a stick tower like Mirage that has several small drivers, or something like a Polk that is thin and deep, or a traditional style with a large woofer and mid and tweeter.
I also see some Polk SLi15 that have a built in sub. I could dip into next year's budget for a new sub with these units.
My amp is set up for bi-amp, not sure if that is what I want. If I use a normal connection, I can move my existing Infinity speakers to mid-room location, but I cannot hook up mid room speakers and bi-amp too.
