What speakers and sub for this amp??? HELP

Hi guys
I am new to this and about to upgrade my audio and after reading all the reviews i have chosen to buy the Onkyo TS-SR605. My room is roughly 18x15x10 and budget for speakers and a sub is $600. I dont care about size of speakers, i actually like the tall on ones. My questions are:
What speakers 5.1 up and sub would be best?
Is it worth the extra $200 to get the TS-SR705 THX model for my setup?

I know alot of you will say go and listen to what is best for me but i will take your word for it. My system will be used for games, movies and music(mostly rock and hiphop). I also like low thundering bass.

Given your budget, could I reccomend downgrading to a cheaper reciever that still has HDMI (or whatever feature that you desire) and spend more on the speakers where it matters. You will get much more bang for your buck out of good speakers and an inexpensive receiver than vice versa.
