MacCallan is my go-to Scotch. Pretty smooth. I had to give away a bottle of Laphroaig, it was harder for me to drink than gasoline.
I am familiar with the Glenlivet and the Glenfiddich single malts, but next time, I might indeed look for one of the MacCallan's.
I am a French Canadian, but my paternal great-grandfather was Scottish.
Cheers,

LOL too bad I couldn't have helped you dispose of that Laphroaig but seems for most you either love it or hate it. One of my regulars. MacCallan is good stuff, I have been known to have a bottle around now and then. Ever try Dalwhinnie? That's a nice sweet smooth scotch....

Haven't tried that one yet, I'll keep an eye open for it next time I'm in a well stocked bar. I generally have my Scotch & Bourbon neat.

I usually drink it half & half with water. As indicated in the previous scientific article that water enhances the flavors of the spirit, another advantage is that it helps protecting against throat irritation and cancer.

Don't think I've ever worried about throat irritation let alone cancer from drinking a wee bit ;)
