Howdy people ,highfihoney here only under a different username , im alive & well & the lil wifey is still holding her own fighting Multiple Scleurosis ..
Not much has changed with me except i retired last july after 30 plus yrs ,ive spent the last few yrs moderating at RUI but havent visited much lately ,modding a bunch of teenage stoners isnt alot of fun, im still going berzerk with audio & all things Mcintosh , infact last september i scored the holy grail of all Mcintosh speakers when i bought Mc designer Roger Russell's personal XR290 speaker system , one of a kind ,one peice vs Mc factory 2 pc & hand built by Roger himself & autographed to boot , at 400 lbs per speaker i thought shipping was gonna kill them but they were hand delievered to my home for free , a perfect speaker to finally push all 1200 watts from the Mc1201 mono's ive had running my Mc XRT 22's all these yrs .
Also i started trying out Emotiva gear , it started with the RSP-1 preamp used , then the ERC-2 cdp new & last month i picked up a mint pair of XPR-1 monoblocks from ebay , at well under $3k it was a no brainer , i still havent really tried out the big emo amps other than initial testing cause im dreading moving the Mc1201's to put the XPR-1 's in their place but i'll get to it one day . BTW note to staff at Emotiva ,dropping tone controls from 2 channel preamps was a bad move & bass mgmnt is no substitute for a set of tone controls,had emo not made the RSP-1 & 2 i'd never bought a single peice of emo gear , bring back tone controls please .
Been developing my own blue widdow phenotype for about 4 yrs now with good results , got into the MJ dispensary business for a while until i got sick of the greed my partner was hooked on & got out of the biz , other than that not much has changed & im still kicking .
