I know I need a Hi Def TV to view Hi Def. But what do I need to hear what my amp (Denon AVR-2808CI) boast of? Do I need a DTS, Dolby True HD, DTS HD, etc., etc., DVD player or will any DVD player do? In other words, is the process encoded in the DVD disk and able to traval through regular stereo tracks and once it hits the AV Amp and reaches it's decoders, is it then decoded? Or is some other preparation process necessary of the DVD player itself before it can be properly transferred to the AV Amp and then through it's decoders. While I'm at it; "are the decoders even in the amp?"
And how do all of these things apply to a CD, in other words can a CD produce surround sound? I know a lot about electronics but very little about this new HD, DTS, Dolby True, etc., etc., etc. All I know is I heard it, and I liked it a LOT!
I got the amp, I got the speakers and the HDTV is on the way, how much more money will I have to spend?
