Hello everyone,

I recently acquired a Nakamichi AV-500 Audio/Video Receiver (serial number: D12904284), but unfortunately, it did not come with the Owner’s/User Manual.

I’m trying to fully understand its features (especially Pro Logic, DVD/5.1 inputs, speaker setup, etc.) and would be extremely grateful if anyone could:
• Share a scanned PDF or images;
• Point me to a downloadable location;
• Or even offer to sell or lend the manual.

Happy to cover any scanning or sharing costs, and I can provide shipping if needed.

Thank you in advance for any help!

Best regards,
Alexander

That is a hard manual to find. The AV-500 has no digital ports. But, it does have 5.1 analog input ports. If you have a player such as various Oppo models or some other player with 5.1/7.1 analog outputs, you can have discreet 5.1 output of audio from the player to the 5.1 analog input ports of the AV-500. Unless, you are using an older TV with an analog/composite video input port or a converter device, you will not be able to output any video signals from the AV-500 to adjust any settings that may appear on a setup menu. What kind of devices are you planning to connect to it?

Some newer TVs include an adapter to allow composite or component output for old device compatibility. While the Nak is a great unit, it is also pretty ancient by today's standards.

There is an ad for AV-300 and AV-400 physical manuals on eBay Much of the feature set will be the same, though obviously not 100% for what you have.
