Not sure it is is everywhere, but in California a threat like that is an automatic felony if charges are brought and the police are REQUIRED to investigate thanks to a law passed after Columbine.

If this toolbag showed up at my house for a party after this, I would have been sitting in a chair across from him cleaning the shotgun, not offering him drinks.

As an aside: I've never understood the idea of getting upset that the man your wife is cheating on you with (unless said man was a friend of yours). The issue in that case is the wife, not the stranger.

@bandphan: Hey, don't hog all the popcorn.

Not the case in Texas.

My buddy (cop) just left. "He said; I have known you all my life and normally you would just tell the guy to meet you somewhere and you would beat the snot out of him".

I reminded him that I am 46 years old now and that people no longer fight and then drink a beer together afterwards. Now they just kill you.

He said to give him a day or so to take care of things "unofficially" and then he would call me and tell me to file an official report.

Had I known all this, the guy would have never been invited to my house.

I wanted to Thank ya for the pic, but I just can't :(
I just hope you will take care and make sure he is never within earshot of you again because that would be too close for comfort. He seems like like the type that would seek some revenge in lieu of his wifes dismissal from work so be aware at all times, sawz.

I may be over thinking this as he may actually be happy that his wife got fired, no more worries about her meeting stray dawgs when out and about.

The pic in the kitchen was much better, very lovely guests :)

This one is surely not cheating material :D

Best thread thus far this year.

A+ drama fest.

The guy is obviously a nut case. It's just too bad you didn't at least get some from that other woman having to go through all of that garbage.

Seriously, I have no life.
If he's this jumpy about her cheating with someone she just met, I would bet that it wasn't the first time she played that game. He may just be sick of being cheated on but he's too dependent on her to break it off.

Either way, your friend can contact the phone company and get the records of who called whom and make some sense of it. Making threats over the phone isn't taken lightly, especially when they were recorded, so record all future calls if you can.

if you are not "preparing' yourself, you are a fool. this guy could, and may, "good off" on you/family.

if it were me. i would have a meeting with all involved + the police.
and tell the guy "if you mess with me/family AT ALL, i will defend to the death!"
stay the %&@$ AWAY FROM ME/family !!!!!!!!!!!!
and say it in a VIOLENT way !!!
and then pack a .45 .

chit like this SHOULD NOT be taken lightly. looks to me it is a case of "him or me"

guess which i would choose....

as always = ymmv

GOOD LUCK with that

If he has to hire someone to check on his woman then they obviously have issues already...whether they are real or imagined, they have nothing to do with you. Just do what you can to keep clear of them and be alert. Sucks that people are like that, but you just need to do what is necessary to protect you and yours when these people involve you.

Personally, I wouldn't want whatever she has that makes this pinhead do what he's doing.

He sounds like the type who's about to take hostages and start blasting, shouting "If I can't have her, nobody can!!!!!!!!!!!!!".

Well, that's a start.

Now that nutballs wife realizes her hubby is the problem and left her place of employment is a step in the right direction, I think.

But, the problem that remains is who is the mysterious caller who claimed he was you. Upon reading your previous posts, maybe nutball just assumed it was you to begin with and when, on the second phone call, nutballs wife asked the mystery man if he was you, he just said yes.

tis a puzzlemnt...

Either that or he's using Mr Pdawg as a scapegoat and an excuse to leave is wife.

Pdawg, sorry to hear about this. This kind of sh?t can really get under your skin and eat awaya at you not to mention the possibility of the real danger involved in this. We're all rooting for you and your wife and hope it turns out in your favour.

Just to be clear, the Dawg is a legal gun carrying citizen who is always aware of his surroundings. Having a family to protect now scares me a lot more than when it was just me.

Only a few years ago, the Dawg would love situations like this just so he would have an excuse to stomp on some smart butt but things are a lot different now. We are very private people who prefer our time alone and at home more than anything else. We don't do drama.

My cop buddy said it seems pretty simple to him. He had someone call her and see what named she prompted. She likely knew it was him and this was leading him down a path away from whom she is really cheating on him with. So in her mind she was protecting the real guy and herself by having him chase down someone who wasn't involved.

Either that or she was talking to the real guy and used your name or he has the same name as you ironically...either way, she was covering for what is really going on. Both of them just need to realize that their relationship is over and move on or straighten things out and get some help.
