ha, cellphones are the new benchmark in valuing the peso.
it used to be oil. then fish. then noodles.
now cellphones.

we must be a major customer for nokia.

bloody hell! A Fish Called Wanda is 2.0 only!
not that the movie needs it, but this is the 1st time I've encountered a 2.0 DVD

I also went to the HongKong dealer of Velodyne ...
looked at the the DD-18 ... marvelling at how gigantic it was.
then I saw this silvery-refrigerator looking thing beside it.
bloody hell! it was the velodyne1812. what the hell is the HK dealer doing with a DD18, much less a DD1812 ... 95% of the houses over there are only slightly bigger than pigeon holes!

holy crap. the sight of the 1812 was enough to turn my legs into jelly!
I wanted to be in its presence even if I had no intention of getting something like that ... (hmmm)

The BIG question is did you get to play with the 1812?

Should be able to trigger the earthquake alarms

(BTW-good movie choices)

However, my brother was recently in NYC and bought a "Rolex" from a street vendor. He said there were a number of vendors and they had various models and quality levels.
HAHA,i bought my wife one of those street vendor rolex watches while i was in NYC two years ago, damn thing looks sweet,i also bought her a coach hand bag while i was splurging:)

i think i only spent around $75 for both the watch & hand bag but i'll never tell:D

I know about 10 mandarin words ... nursery words stuff.
unfortunately, the main language over there is cantonese. (an even more complicated chinese dialect) ... i know stuff like: check please, thanks, sorry

but you really don't need to know any chinese words. you can get around with english (80% of the people know some english). besides, its fun trying to get simple stuff with a LOT of hand movements, awkward silences ... you blasting away in english, them blasting away in cantonese hoping something makes sense to the other :)

ha, those guys seem to know the cop rotations ... because they seem to be out in the open but manage to avoid all the cops.

but its good shopping around this time of the year. big discounts ... splurged the hell out of my wallet for clothes. :)

thanks on the movie choices.

nope I didn't, the store guys seem to be able to smell out those who have no intention of buying ... especially the fact I look like a foreigner and therefore cannot buy something like that :D
