Well I did it, I got my new receiver!

This receiver was a floor model, so the first thing I did when I hooked it up was to reset to the default settings. But thanks for the suggestion. I'm wondering if I have a faulty dolby digital decoder.
It is possible but have you tried play a movie that has DTS 5.1 or 6.1 yet? Something like the LOTR, 007, Star War movies should do. Also, does it make any sound if you select Dolby PLllx?

Clearly you know what you are doing, such as selecting HDMI correctly to 'AMP', PS3 to bit stream output etc. We are running out of things to check. That's why I suggested you reset the receiver but you have done that too! In that case the possibility that something had gone defective cannot be ruled out. Can you bring it back to the store and let them try it out with any DD source?

Well, I went to Best Buy to see if they could send a dolby digital signal to the 94txh they have (I bought the last 92) to see if I had some setting wrong, but they had everything set up the same as I do. They said to call Pioneer, which I will tomorrow. Hopefully they can help me out with it, otherwise they'll have to fix it or Best Buy will have to give me something new. Thanks everyone for trying to help me out on this. I think we have tried just about everything.

Well, I took is back to Best Buy and they game me another 92TXH that was a floor model and it works like a charm. Seems like I just had a bum unit. The guy I worked with at Magnolia was great and could not understand why the Dolby Digital decoding would not output any sound. Anyway, I'm up and running and loving it. Thanks again to everyone would helped me out.

Man, that's an odd but frustrating failure to have to deal with. It's good to hear that all circuits are go.
