Naw man, I got in trouble for getting my brother-in-law a AVR and PS3 and now I have to wait for my birthday(same as yours I think).

I am trying to hold out for the new amp(in the sub) anyway so we will see.
Did you land yourself a second Ultra 13 that I missed ?

Beautiful subs and looks like a fun project. Did you get the third cabinet? I've been thinking about a DIY sub but have been sweating the cabinet. Maybe I'll contact AE for some details on a cabinet build.

Thanks Duff....

I did not get the 3rd box yet, just got off the phone with John and I hope to pick them up next week monday or tuesday....

My Sugar mama and I had a great time getting the boxes together upon getting them... the drivers are extremely heavy but we worked together and now have it down to a science.

Wiring the boxes and stuffing with 4 king size pillows was the easy part, dropping an 80lb driver is a whole nuther ball game.... Needless to say that after they are all together moving a 300lb box around is no picnic. Although I put really small sliders under each of the legs and they slide around with 1 hand on the wood floor with no effort at all....

I was over to his place last week and they sounded very good. You could tell the drivers filled the room with much less effort than the previous boxes. Once Warp gets his 3rd box and gets everything dialed in I'm sure it will sound stellar.

And then there were 3 !!!! "Book of Genesis"

Took a nice trip up to Green Bay today and picked up the last box, got it home and worked on it this afternoon. Got the speakon in and wired it up for both drivers, stuffed 4 pillows in, yanked the drivers from my old boxes. Dropped in the first driver and started taking picks of the final older version driver.

Not the final resting place for the box, but I'm exhausted. It'll be moved to behind the plasma. EQing starts on friday......

You must now change your screen name from Warpdrve to Subking. I think I can hear those bad boys up here in Oshkosh. :D

Thanks guys..... can't take credit for the building of the boxes, that goes to John at AE Speakers, I just designed them to fit my criteria and he took it from there..

Seriously awesome work he did, though there were hiccups in the time frame, I am very happy with the end result.

Forgot to post the fun pic with magnetic grill part - haven't figured out what direction I'm going to go with for grills yet.

Hey Warp, having seen that picture over at AVS...sounds like your leaning towards magnetic covers:). Fwiw....those drivers look so sweet and subs don't typically require covers so I'd hate like hell to cover them up, but that's just me:D.

Thanks billy.... :D

I agree 100%, they just look so nice as is, I just didn't want to have the boxes built and not have magnets sunk under the veneer. I hate those grill pegs and figured that the old verbage stands true -

better to have 'em and not need 'em, then to need 'em and not have 'em.
