Hmmmm... Hadn't heard about this. Interesting news. It is good that at the moment they will operate independently, but I figure at some point Walmart may be injecting all the Vizio TVs with their special kind of sales tactics, similar to how Amazon works with FireTV.

It's kind of the nature of the beast at this point I suppose. Wish more manufacturers would stick with Roku OS. But, it's all just getting more and more bloated for consumers.

I don't know that it will really drive sales though. Similar to streaming where Walmart tried to jump on the bandwagon late and failed, I hope they don't mess around with this one.

As long as they leave them alone technology wise, even if they use it to do their own branding/advertising, it should be OK.

Too bad the new Vizio TVs aren't that good these days at least from the reviews I've been seeing. I still love my Vizio 65 QLED with great colors and inky blacks from 2021.

I bet this is more about sucking in more customer data, like what people are watching and when, and then selling it.
It's free money they can't resist.
