WallE - Kinda disappointed

I understand where you're coming from.

I'm very biased as well, since the general public doesn't understand how much work and talent went into making something like Wall-E (Sad, but true) as opposed to a movie like Finding Nemo.

I also know what you mean about the PQ in the theater. As a general rule of thumb, all CG movies will look better on BD since there is no film and it's a straight digital transfer.

I remember when I watch Ratatouille in the theatres and thought that backdrops must have been real and not rendered. When I bought the BD, I could clearly see that it was rendered due to the increase clarity.

Oh one thing that I really didn't like about the movie was the inclusion of live actors (on the TV screen). It breaks your suspension of disbelief as your quickly realize that the movie is animated and not real.

Yes, the movie LOOKED spectacular, there just seemed to be something missing from the story. I didn't feel myself really pulled into the movie, like Nemo. Finding Nemo had me crying in the theater for God's sake. This one was just decent.

Unfortunately, I think the theater we saw it at kind of sucked, because I came back home and watched the trailer on my PS 3 and thought that the picture looked MUCH better at home than in the theater.
You cried?!?!?!??!?! Poor baby. :D

Yeah, we laughed quite a few times. WallE was VERY cute, and the love story was touching, but we just didn't come out of the theater all happy like with Nemo. I didn't like The Incredibles very much in the theater, but I really started to like it after watching the DVD a couple of times.

I don't want people to think we thought the movie was bad, we just had high expectations, based on the commercial, and it didn't really live up to that.

It was good; just not great. I think Pixar stumbled a bit on this one.

Here's how I would rank the Pixar movies from best to worst:

1. Finding Nemo
2. Toy Story
3. The Incredibles
4. Ratatouille
5. Toy Story 2
6. WallE
7. A Bug's Life
8. Monsters Inc.
9. Cars
You got to be kidding me! How can you have Monsters Inc that low on that list? That has to be the most creative storyline of all the movies you listed. Not to mention getting the best voice tallent available! That movie was great. I'm not saying it's Pixar' best, but seriously, you have Ratatouille and WallE above Monster's Inc.?? Give me a break!

I do agree with your placement of Cars though. That movie was herendous. It was boring in places, and in others you could tell there was suppose to be a joke there. The only problem was that it wasn't funny.

I saw this today. I think you really didn't understand this movie or any of the jokes. The Eva thing was a gag, because he couldn't say Eve. And there was more dialog then that, this is just not a movie you go to for dialog.

Picture looked great, good sound, and a funny story. Lots of slap stick humor involving Wall-e. Highly recommended.

I'll catch the DVD (or BD as I'll have my new player by then for sure).

All of the movies after The Incredibles are very close together in my opinion. There's not much separating all those movies. I'd say they're all about the same in quality.

Sorry, but I didn't think Mosters Inc was all that great. I think I liked the Mike's New Car short better than the movie.

If that's the case, then I'm afraid it may have gone over your head. Try watching it again and pay attention. You may be surprised. There are some suttle things thrown into that one, even references to corporate America. And if you don't think Billy Crystal is funny then there must be something wrong with you! :D

Whatever dude. In fact I just saw it a couple of weeks ago on TV. It's OK, not great. Nowhere near as good as Nemo or Incredibles.

Billy Crystal is all right. He's not hilarious or anything. If you think he's so damn funny, you're probably at least 55.

I liked Monster's Inc. I felt it was better than A Bug's Life, though my list would be pretty close to that as well.

Yeah, I could easily swap the positions of Monsters, Inc. and A Bug's Life on my list.

Here's pretty much the dialogue for the whole movie:

"WallE!!!"

"Eva!!!!"

"WallE!!"

"Eva!!!"

"WallE!!"

"Eva!!!"

Not really sure why he calls her Eva when her name's Eve.
If you want to see a movie with even less dialogue, then go rent "Behind the Green Door" with Marilyn Chambers. Zero dialogue. BTW, I liked Cars!

Well porn's not exactly known for dialog; it isn't necessary.

I've never seen that one, but I remember in Cannonball Run, there's a scene where Jackie Chan pops that video in to the TV in his car and watches it for a minute, before he gets caught by his co-pilot. :D

Hey, I realize that my last post probably came off as sounding mean. Sorry, if I came off that way. Hey, different people like different movies and I can accept that. But I think that you at least got to give M.I. credit for the creative story. It's def. original. Many of the other stories have pretty much been done before (walle=short circuit, toy story="ragedy ann & andy"back in the day. remember that one?, cars= hasn't disney already produced enough movies about cars that act like people? the movie's story isn't much different then all the herbie movies,...OH YEAH, THE INCREDIBLES- aren't super hero movies a dime a dozen these days? ) Anyway, just a few examples. Don't get me wrong. I liked most of the movies on that list, so I'm not taking away from it. I've actually enjoyed watching all of these movies and I'm not putting Monsters Inc as number one or anything, just thought it was a pretty original story and worthy of being bumped up a few places on the list. That's all.

Oh, by the way. I'm not 55, but my dad is. :D

I thought Wall-E was very clever and I also would rate Ratatouille as one of my fave Pixar movies.

Different strokes for different folks as they say.
