I use an air rower I got of Craigslist for about 50 bucks. I love that thing. I can watch a tv show and row at the same time. Thought it's loud so be warned.I go for a walk in the A.M. every day about three to five miles max, yes my body feels good for it , I dont smoke so my lungs are loving it and the Doc. says my heart beats slow and steady like an athlete which I am far from.My only problem with this whole routine, blisters gosh darn blisters I try every possible walking cross training sneaker you could imagine, my son loves it every time he comes home from school he takes back another pair of sneakers, what gives does' there come a time when the damn feet just dont want to go any more or what.I get these very sore painful blisters right on the sides of my middle toes, both freaking feet, it sucks.I wish I could just walk on the heels it's almost like I need those darn socks with the individual toes to keep em separated.O.K. just wanted to vent a little bit my feet are killing me right now so I went off a little.Has any body else gone through this or am I the sole, ha, sufferer of toe pain.

Yeah, you can cover more ground & see more sightsI second the bike idea. Plus: Faster = More fun.
LOL where do you find these things? The first thing that popped into my head were these, which fit well with the toe socks that you mentioned. I thought of them because my brother just told me about them a week ago.
My brother bought a pair and was telling me about them. He really likes them. I'm seriously considering getting a pair myself (yeah, I'm that bored.LOL where do you find these things?

There are some other running shoe stores that will properly fit you for shoes also. I have wide feet with natural arches and wear exclusively New Balance and Under Armor running shoes.Sounds like the sneakers are too small, and / or not wide enough in the toe box area.
I solved my problem by going to a New Balance store and getting measured there.
They have shoe sizing down to a science.
Good Luck,
Rick

I got the KSO model (the Flow is waterproof but too hot for summer walking because of the Neoprene, and the other models have an exposed top). With the appropriate socks, I found them to be very comfortable indeed - like walking barefoot but with some protection. However, because it is like walking barefoot, I'd not recommend them for walking on course gravel or the like - you'll feel it. They're fine on pavement if you don't need extra cushioning (I was just on my daughter's zoo field trip and spent four hours walking through the zoo with no ill effects). However, they are amazing when walking on grass/soil/soft surfaces. I hate having my toes touch each other (yeah, I'm a freak), and these are just the ticket.
People will notice them, though, so that's either a plus or a minus depending on how much of an attention whore you are.
I never knew under armor made shoes, I'll look into those but also I have prolly never been actually fit for top notch cross trainers and or running shoes so I will be sure to give that routine a shot what the heck without the dogs we are in trouble, no intended reference to The DawgsThere are some other running shoe stores that will properly fit you for shoes also.
