FirstReflection,
Don't you have (or didn't you, at one time, have) a pair of RC-30's?
They are a very good tower for $400/pair.
What are your thoughts on a how pair of RC-30's would compare to Ascend CMB-170SE's paired with his sub?
Thanks,
Kurt
Naw - I still have the RC-Mini and RC-Mini-C speakers. Never owned the RC-30.
I had no idea the RC-30 were available for $400! That's definitely a steal! I really, really hate what Klipsch did to all of the API speaker brands. Athena disappeared pretty much completely, Energy got taken down to a budget brand and Mirage has almost fallen off the radar. What a horrible waste

And now Audiovox is sweeping in to kill off Klipsch and Jamo too. Such a shame
Anywho, for $400, it'd be DARN hard to top the RC-30 for towers! I'm a huge, huge fan of that Ascend tweeter - a real bargain in that price range. But I'd have to give the nod to the RC-30 over the CBM-170SE in an overall sense. Not that it's as big a difference as the original $1200 vs. $360 price gap might lead one to believe, mind you. Those CBM-170SE are darn good little performers! Can't play as loud though and can't go as deep. Although the RC-30 don't exactly troll the depths of bass or anything

No contest in the looks department though. The CBM-170SE are VERY plain, black boxes.
Out of that list of choices that the OP mentioned, I'd be recommending the Behringers all the way. But with that RC-30 pair for $400 out there, I'd have to agree with jumping ALL OVER that deal!
