All right, I just rewatch "Valkyrie" last night on blu-ray without falling asleep, like I did the night before.
Not only that, but I watch the two hours documentary right after the movie.
Well, I was very pleased with the film. What struck me, was the physical facial similarity between the look of Tom Cruise with the true in life main character of the film (Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg).
The acting was good, the picture excellent with great details on faces and interiors. Light was also well done.
The soundtrack, I love very much so.
So, overall, a great blu-ray transfer with a good movie and good features.
And it's very nice too, learning about these German partisans. And what about Adolph Hitler enormous luck to escape 15 tentatives of assassination!
Is this guy was lucky or what!
What I really feel from the German soldiers and also from the German population at that time, is that they allowed only one man to rule them all. How could you do such a thing?
I mean, Adolph was not the best person on this Earth, but why would you let this guy to get away with this for so long?
I mean, it's the people that choose someone to represent them for their best interest. So, the people are also responsible for their leader.
It's the same in every country, even in America.
I do understand that there are some countries that are not very democratic in choosing their representatives, but when you become aware of the grave situation, it is your responsability to act and do whatever you have to do, without any prejudice and failure, for the good will of the people.
The true power is in the people hands. And if we allow one crazy fool to put in place his demoniac activities, then it also reflects on us.
What an extreme mess this has put the German people of that time in?
If I was a German soldier working in a concentration camp of that not so long ago era, with the mind that I got today, I would have done what these partisans were also trying to do. It's nice indeed to learn about them, make you realise that some people do have a true conscience and they will act upon it.
May God have Mercy on all the ignorants, the inactives, the deprived, the oppressed and all responsible for this extreme situation. I feel deep sorrow in my heart, because I'm still a child of my mother and father during that troubled period. We'll live with that memory forever.
So, this film is important in my view, and uplift my appreciation for these German partisans in these very troubled times of rage.
Highly recommended for at the very least a serious viewing.
