V3 Fosi mono Kappa 9

So, like I have stated before this is for me a casual listening setup in my living room. I have to undertake the downstairs system soon (getting ready mentally) to be able to time align and fine tune.

So, I listened to the system upstairs more intensely. The top en is borderline bright and much more dynamic then the low end. The bass response does not keep up dynamically compared to the midrange and upper midrange.
Gain adjustment remains very limited as to what I can do. The Classe is matched with the Classe pre amp so the gain has to be right. When putting the gain to I think 25dv on the V3's the shut off when pushing up the volume. So without doing any measurements, and I really don't want to go there with this system, I matched to it working.

Here come the darts (ducking for cover) lol
So you are using a Classe preamp? If so, you are in good shape because the DR2’s gain is about 29 dB and the V3 can be set to 25 or 31 dB.

So if you like a little more bass, set the V3 to 31 dB would be good.

I tried 31, they shutoff when I pushed them. Pushed at about 12:00 so nothing too special. Probably (hard to say without proper measurements, the gain match of the V3 is too low in comparison to the DR2.

The V3 is actually higher gain structure than the DR2 when set to 31db. Do you have a SPL meter, or can you use a generic app on your phone to get an idea what your listening levels are at your MLP?

Then don’t push, back off the volume a little. Are you using RCAs or XLS?

25 will be way too low, 31 is a little high vs the Classe’s 29 but a lot closer to matching than 25. You may prefer lesser deep bass, then 25 might be right for you but it would be quite a mismatch.

Absolutely. I have done this before and it goes up to 100 db +. Now this is used to give ambiance in the house. It is fills into many different areas. Thought I would mention this before getting the hearing loss police after me.

Peaking at 100db is one thing, continuous at those levels is brutal on many levels, lol. Getting those levels continuous at the MLP is asking an awful lot, cranking it to fill in the other open areas is huge part of your issues, IMHO.

I never said anything about CP35 but if it is the Classe preamp you should be able to find its gain.

For level matching matching the Classe power amp and the Fosi V3 Monoblock power amp, I have already found their gains, there is no need to know the Classe preamp’s gain because you are using that same preamp to biamp your RS Kappa 9 if I understand correctly.
