Upgrading speaker cable for Bose Lifestyle V20 theater system?

Lol, looks like my 'Pro Bose' comments have garnered me some negative rep points with someone (I don't know how to check who) writing "what an idiot response Bose sucks" under the rep comments section.

Everyone has an opinion.

I can see that people have to be conformist according to the comment maker and are not entitled to personal opinions.

Speaking of everyone has opinions: how does one poster neg-repping you mean that people have to be conformist?

As I said, personally I do not own any Bose HT/Music systems, as I am after that additional bit of performance which does make for severely diminishing returns. However I do also recognise that not everyone is after that. Some people really do just want plug and play convenience in a compact package and money is really quite secondary to that whole point.

Many companies sell HTiaB systems, not just Bose. Many companies sell "wave radios", not just Bose.

Obviously there is a market for that or else Bose would have gone out of business a long time ago. Now if I was living in a small apartment where space and WAF was paramount, I possibly might be forced into considering Bose but thankfully I don't have those restrictions.

There is a market for powdered whale penis... that doesn't make it a useful medication.

Personally I don't really understand the Bose bashing. I've had a good listen in the Bose shop in Vancouver whilst on holidays recently and was pleasantly surprised with the 'sound quality'. I've always wondered how many of the Bose bashers actually have had a good listen to a properly setup Bose system.

I wouldn't say I've extensively listened to Bose, but from what I've heard, I would agree with all the Bose bashing. Their outdoor speakers are some of the worst speakers I've ever heard, and about 10 minutes of watching a movie on their Acoustimass system was so fatiguing that I had to stop. In all fairness, the Acoustimass sounded on par or better than many HTIB systems I've heard, but those have been a quarter or a third of the price of Bose. If they priced their systems at about 30% of what they do, I bet you wouldn't hear a lot of Bose bashing.

Oh, they also have no clue how to make car audio.

They sure know how to market themselves though!

I just found it funny that's all as I haven't actually used this forum for posting up until about Christmas and found REP points hilarious. If you read my comment the way I had intended it to mean, I was only referring to that actual poster wanting people to be conformist to his opinion that Bose sucks. I probably should have phrased it better rather than putting it in as an afterthought - "according to the comment maker". Sorry about that.

Regarding HTIB systems - I did say it was in a COMPACT package. There aren't that many systems running around on the size of the Bose V20 which is what the OP actually has. I can think of speakers that are similarly sized off the top of my head, but not all in one packages which is the convenience that Bose has managed to capitalise on and charge a premium for. Hats off to their marketing team eh?

Heck, I'm wasn't even trying to defend Bose but just trying to be fairly impartial on the matter as the OP HAS a Bose system already and may not be able to return it as people love to immediately suggest when they hear other people just bought Bose. If he likes it, then all is good. If he doesn't, well, later on he can join the ranks of the Bose Bashers and speak with great authority on the matter

And for markets for Whale Penis - not everyone can perform at peak efficiency all the time. I have it on good authority from all those emails I get that it helps you grow hUgE and 1ast 10nGer! The market for that is alive and well!

I've found that a very light dusting of powdered whale penis (especially if it is native to the Atlantic ocean) improves the sonic properties of all speaker cable. The effect appears to be especially effective with a Bose V20 system (see - back on topic).

I considered starting a new thread on this topic, but decided that a new whale penis thread might not be a good idea.

Anyhoo, back on topic. There is one variety of whale member that should be avoided at all cost. However, I will not name the particular species. After all, this is a family forum.

Quantifiable sonic improvement from powdered whale penis only works on Monster Cables, and then only from uncircumcised Sperm whales from the Baltic.
