Recently purchased Monitor 7 v5, center 390, atoms for surrounds and the lower end 12 in sub - I think its PDR. Driving it with older yammy - it still sounds great to my ears and was a huge upgrade for me (am new to all this still).
But, presently thinking about a plasma - a panny likely - 50px77. So I'll be getting HD, but have made no plans re: blue ray, etc... yet.
And future speakers - likely to upgrade fronts and center to studio line in a year, also likely the sub. Probably the 590 for the center and 40s to replace the 7s.
I am also thinking about wiring a few other rooms for speakers down the road. So multiroom is an issue as well - when I do this - I plan to stay reasonable - maybe the monitor minis or the titans.
Volume of play varies - I have a wife and toddler - so I don't usually blast the thing - in fact, the monitors are so sensitive that I barely need to turn the volume up at all.
Room one is 2500 cubic feet, room two is equal size but will only be used for meals/parties.
Finally, ideally (but not critical) I like a receiver that can take an audio feed from a computer (wife has a favorite internet radio station)
I want HDMI 1.3 - I plan to have all of this stuff for a while (other than the speakers which will be upgraded annually until my wife leaves me).
Budget is around $1000 give or take.
I've been looking at the onkyo 705 and 805 (they seem similar other than power), but am open to whatever people think will work for my needs, also not bound to an AVR - though that budget makes it a little tight. Thoughts?
Thanks!
