Additional update... bummer... the cc-190 appears to simply be worn out. Dialogue is extremely woofy and slightly distorted. The speaker looks amazing but DEFINITELY has some sonic issues after A/B testing with a known working center. The deal was so good I'll just eat it, but that's a major disappointment.

It's hard to get a good center that is small. If you have the vertical space, some will use the same speaker for all 3 fronts so that you have proper tonal balance across the front stage.

I used to have a Studio-CC center. It sounded noticeably worse than my Studio 20 but it was all I could afford at the time. I eventually found the matching CC-590 and it was night and day. Paradigm makes good centers, but you'll notice the difference when you get into the 3-way centers.
