Unreliable Samsung BDP-1000 -- anyone else?

I have a Samsung blu-ray player (upgraded firmware) and have no issues with the playback of blu-ray discs. However, I experience pausing and "jumpy" frame playback and audio when playing standard DVDs. I have sent the unit to Samsung after being told to reset the system (the factory settings seem to be not to upscale). The playback issue can happen at anytime but typically occurs after 100 minutes. What is really aggrivating is that I truly assumed that upscaling would be the least of my issues. As it turns out, it's the only one! I've switched back to a standard upscaling DVD player while the unit is at Samsung for repair and am having no issues. Monitor displays 1080i input and there is no pausing or jumps. I do hope Samsung is able to "repair" the unit but am becoming increasingly suspicious that the issue is actually a design fault. Has anyone with this player experienced this issue or hopefully not experienced this issue? -- thanks for any info!

My apologies. I assumed there would be threads. The only one I could find was how many had returned their units. I spent nearly an hour looking and tried advance searches but to no avail. Novice here and appreciate your feedback. I will find out what it takes to delete the thread and find a more appropriate place!

No need to delete it here. Sorry no one here seems to have this player, that is why I thought you may want to try AVS. Why not post there and ask?
