Cool movie, DTS, great bass. Not as much action as I would have liked to seen. I didn't know Morgan was in it he did a good job as usual. Jetli had some nice moves but I'm tired of wire action which it had some of but not overblow like some of his other films.

Saw it in the theater. It's OK, not great - a couple of good fight scenes and a decent story. Worth a rent, but as noted, it is more story than action. Kind of like Kiss of the Dragon.

watch Fist of legend if you haven't seen it... Best martial arts flick of all time by a wide margin.

I wouldn't go that far, but it is probably Jet Li's best movie. Jackie Chan's Drunken Master is great too.

Drunken Master (II if import) absolutely floored me the first time I saw it, oh some 10-12 years ago. Nothing like it at the time.

I would go that far, I have an extensive collection of Martial Arts Flicks "about 250 or so" and none come close to me, the demonstration of so many styles with a story you can actually watch is what does it for me.

What would you nominate as best? maybe I haven't seen it...

Well, we're talking about a genre in which about half of the total number of movies made were crappy b-movies (including most of the ones done in the US). The other half are decent, and of that half, a small portion are really good. I'm kind of partial to Chinese Connection myself, not on technical merit, but because it was the first one I ever saw as a kid :)

Fist of Lengend has some of the best wire work I've seen - when he fights the master, that was a great fight. I didn't like the last fight though - I wanted to see a little more.

Catch a look at "Ong Bak.. the Thai Warrior", Tony Jaa.

Tagline: No stunt doubles, no computer images, no strings attached.

Poor PQ, but young Mr. Jaa is simply "scary" :D
Worth a rent.
Must see for martial-fans.

Now this movie is something that I thought was over-hyped, I'm not saying that it's not a great film but the action looked to choreographed and robot like. Everything is so stiff and lacks fluidity. His Gymnastics are amazing but I dont think that puts him in the same category as Jet or even Jacky.

I will give him respect for the no wires but that is not new either...

Point taken & admitted... but remember, Thai-Boxing is a decidedly different style.
It is very direct.
Moves tend to be more a punctuation than phrase. :)

Hey... at least I didn't cite "Kill Bill". :D

BTW: Unleashed seemed more a drama, than Martial-exploit, don't you think(?).

I've had this movie for over a year and wires are definitely used in a few shots, but the fighting is well done and I thought Jaa did a great job. Obviously low budget, and it DOES remind me a lot of the oldest Jackie Chan movies, but not quite up to the level of Jet Li or Jackie...yet.

Yes I agree with this, Jet Li has stated his retirement from making movies. His last film is supposably going to be "fearless" which is a prequel to fist of legend. In this film Jet will show the life of his fallen teacher from Fist Of Legend. If it is made aswell as the first I will be very happy.

I hadn't heard about that one, so I'll have to be on the look out for it as well.
