Are there any reports about Putin and cancer surgery published by a reputable news agency? By reputable, I mean a news source that is known to confirm stories before rushing to show them online.

I never heard of hotair.com before. I had to look it up … its a right wing conservative political blog.
I don't believe that makes the grade.

• Marca, a Spanish daily focusing on the daily activities of Spanish football teams.
• The Daily Mail, a London-based tabloid.
• The Hindustan Times, an English language daily located in Punjab (northern India) with Indian Nationalist sympathies.
• And two reports in the New York Post, a tabloid fully owned by Rupert Murdoch.

There were more on that Google list, but I'll stop there. Again, all of these fall short of the mark.

That's part of why I included her! Criticizing her own governments actions - which I think have been very effective, so far - and carrying water for Putin make it quite appropriate to include her in the group.

You're saying that it's NOT OK for someone to criticize their own government? That's BS! That's our job- pay attention, look for problems and NOT hide heads in the sand. Criticizing the government IS NOT carrying water for a foreign leader- it's finding fault and making the fault(s) known.

There's no end game, just 'to hand over weapons until someone gives up.

Make no mistake- we need to be very careful about how this goes because Russia wasn't made to give up their nukes- detente is great, but it's not the same when one side is ruled by someone who's crazy or wants to cause the other guy to flinch and at some point, I fully expect Biden to flinch or say something that causes a bad response.

Look for his comments about accommodating Russia if you want to see something that should frighten you.

I indulge in wishful thinking all the time. Like, I wish Vladimir Putin's head would explode. Same goes for all those who support him, including former GOP one-term US presidents .

But I draw the line when wishful thinking is portrayed as if it were news.

The SR 71 is one of the most beautiful airplanes to ever fly. Used to have photos it plastered all over my room as a kid. Amazing piece of engineering using the tech available in the 1950s. They have one in NYC displayed on the Intrepid. They had an ex pilot employed for a while that used to tell great stories about how the fuel would leak out of it when it was at surface airpressure. They had to get the damn thing in the air ASAP.

This video is from '89 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and that's one of the years I was there. Went with my dad and one of his friends from when they were stationed at Rougham Field during WWII near Bury St Edmund, England. His friend was part of a B-17 crew that was shot down over Germany in about 1942 and he was a POW for several years- broke his back at some point, leaving him permanently bent over. They hadn't seen each other after being shot down, until my dad became part of the 'Search & Rescue' group of the 94th Bomb Group Association- turns out, he and his wife lived only a couple of miles away in Milwaukee. Until finding out that Les was alive, my dad thought he died in the crash- carried that for over 45 years.

No, I am NOT saying someone shouldn't criticize their own government. I'm saying that her specific criticisms of US government (and NATO Allies) policy and actions regarding Russia's invasion of Ukraine are BS. I don't care what Schiff has to say about it - aiding Ukraine in the diplomatic, military and humanitarian spheres is the right thing to do.

And, "fight Russia over there so we don't have to fight Russia here" is specious nonsense.

I don't know what the hell happened to Chomsky. He was always pretty dogmatic, but that is insane. There is hardly a leader in the west more nakedly fascistic than Trump. Dementia is really doing a number on him.

He's old. Happens to all of us. Sadly, he was one of the "voices of reason" that never really pulled any punches when it came to all the BS the US has been involved in.

There gets to be a point in people's lives where their just not mentally competent enough to hold their expert position any longer. Seems Noam has reached that point. Not because he mentioned Trump in a not negative light, but because that position is SO out of character it's concerning.

The "plan", as I understand it, is to materially support Ukraine and gradually tighten the sanctions screws on Russia. I'm not sure what else we can do, short of taking direct military action against Russia.

According to sources that I have followed (sorry, can't recall all of them) is Putin has had a Russian doctor and thyroid cancer specialist follow his entourage everywhere over the past year. In addition, Putin's face appears similar to someone who has been taking large doses of Prednisone ( a corticosteroid ). This drug is also used to treat auto-immune diseases. We call this appearance "Cushing-oid" in reference to Cushing's Disease ( look it up ).

There are reports that he will undergo surgery in the near future for cancer ( type was not specified ) and will hand over control of the government to the architect of the invasion “Viktor Mikhailovich” former FSB aka Nickolai Patrushev ( https://nypost.com/2022/05/02/nikolai-patrushev-could-be-in-charge-of-russia-should-putin-be-sidelined/ ).

Perhaps, Putin seeing that his days are numbered wants to be remembered in Russian "history" as Vladimir the Great, who conquered Ukraine and restored the Russian Empire. In other words, finishing the job he started 23 years ago.

Last week in an intercepted call. Russians discuss Russian causalities as 25,900. This exceeds Ukrainian military estimates and there is no mention of wounded, missing or captured. Probably exceeding 30,000 dead as I type this. Typically in military conflicts, the wounded account for about 3-4X this figure.
