Intelligent life certainly doesn't live here, either!

Well, perhaps their numbers are small and are missed in the sea of the others.

NOTE TO ALIENS: Take me with you.

An interesting idea but would you fit in? Like to be alone from your kind, totally? Not be a zoo animal, or an experiment?

That has nothing to do with it....

The huge vastness of space does. Our solar system is a mere speck of dust. Finding "OUR" piece of dust would be about as likely as stumbling on a specific grain of sand on mount everest.
I can't quite agree with you about that. Finding that grain of sand would not be that hard if it was making itself noticed by being a million times brighter and louder than the rest. We have been shouting at the galaxy for the 100 odd years we have been using radio and TV. About 3500 stars and their systems are now able to hear our infantile babbling. We ourselves have a SETI project. What makes you think a comparable or more advanced life form wouldn't be as curious about interstellar neighbors?

Reality TV. I rest my case. We are alone. No God I know would make more than one species capable of such stupidity. lol

The question shouldn't be, "Are there alliens out there?" It should be,

"What kind of music do they like?"
Do they like tubes or SS better?
What is their stance on 2 channel vs. MC?
How about HD-DVD or Blue Ray?
Receivers or components?
How big is too big for a subwoofer?
Do cables really mater?

These are the things we need to know.

Interesting way of putting it. If that's the case, then why haven't WE found THEM? I am sure that if they are as advanced as us or even more, then why would WE not be able to find THEIR specific grain of sand?

I do believe that there are other planets out there comparable to our own, and that there may be life very similar to our own out there. They may be in a different stage techologically than us as well. There may be some out there who are still in the caveman state, or others in a state similar to that of the dark ages here, who knows?

Of course the sheer distance between us may give them just as much pause in traveling here as it does for us to travel there. It takes a LONG time. Maybe longer than we would live, we may never get back. Even a probe would take a long time to get there and send anything back. Same with radio signals etc. I for one am not surprised that it has not happened.

Also, somewhat tongue in cheek, have you ever noticed that only people who really seem to report sightings or really truly believe they have been abducted are mainly hicks, rednecks and the uneducated? Maybe there is a connection there? hehe! Elvis and Bigfoot indeed! :p

We have been advertising ourselves for such a short time and the galaxy is such a large place. We are after all stuck out here near the end of one of the arms. It is somewhere around 70,000 light years to the other side of the galaxy. It just may take some time for our babbling to be heard.

We (along wth earth) will be long gone before any type of life form decides to come within 100,000 light years of our planet. People can't fathom the age of the earth, the galaxy, and the universe. We are but a blip in time, and to think we'll find something in this millisecond in the whole scheme of things is somewhat preposterous. Enjoy Blu-ray while you can. There's been an eternity before us, and there will be an eternity after us. Life flies by. Enjoy every second of it.

As an ameture astronomer I have to say I have spent time looking at space. I find it rather arrogant for man to think that some God (what ever god you chose) created the entire universe just for us. There has to be some other life out there. But I do not believe they are visiting us on a regular basis, nor are they abducting people or cattle.

Funny thing is how at any given moment there are probably thousands of astronomers all around the world (or at least in the dark half) looking at the sky but yet it's never an astronomer that reports seeing a UFO.

I don't believe we're alone - there are thousands of galaxies just like our Milky Way. With billions and billions of stars like our own sun, the odds are just way too stacked us being the only planet with life on it.

But I don't know if we have ever been "visited" or not. :D

Maybe they're too busy looking millions of light years away at the stars, and not the skies above us. ;)

Always wondered if "aliens" are watching us and are advanced enough to come all this way why do they have silly lights on their ships.

Wonder why "anyone" would come all this way to watch us...and cut open our cows then dump the carcasses back in the field...create some sort of pictogram in a corn field...contact people that do not seem particularly significant to humanity though I am no expert on "significance to humanity".

Well if we are being watched and studied by "aliens" thank God they do not have the same attitude most of humanity has had when encountering those considered "lesser" than they...We have taken land, valuables, people for slavery, etc. Suppose we should be glad the same has not YET happened to us.

Knowing how costly and difficult space travel is why come all this way to watch us? Even for an advanced civilization it can not be an easy nor economical venture so why bother?

Based on this if there is life on other planets perhaps they are no better off than we are. Perhaps we have not been noticed which may be a good thing depending on what sci-fi movie you watch. Perhaps we are being watched and there is some sort of "rule" regarding societies such as ours. If so there are also "badguys" and space being so large it seems plausible that they would "drop" in snatch up whatever cool stuff we may have and is of value and vamoose before John Law shows up.

I believe we are not alone in the universe because it is just so darn big and it does not make sense to think we are the only life forms...on the other hand if we are I have first dibs on the first planet most like "paradise" lol.

You are correct. God did not create the universe for us, but for His glory.

I, too, used to star gaze quite a bit in my younger day. Never saw a UFO. Maybe a few UDOs (unidentified driving objects) along the way, but never a UFO:p I have gone to the local observitory to gaze a few times. They have a little bigger 'scope than I ever had.;)
