Set the BD player to bitstream and you have to use an HDMI cable.

Have you read the instructions? I can't call you as I'm in South Korea and would cost me an arm and a leg.

And the BD has to be encoded with a DTS HD-MA soundtrack.

master audio

I am using a master audio Blu ray dvd, and it should work.

What settings on the onkyo do i go thru that sound the best...MASTER audio dts-hd? or anything better? I really want to hear the dts-hd master audio to hear the difference.

Please help me out. 989-460-0261 or 989-326-4873

When the movie's playing, hit the display button on the receiver remote to see input source info, pg 69.

Don’t know how much more I could help as I’m not well versed on either unit and am just going by the manuals.

Make sure the BD-Video Secondary Audio is set to off on the BD60, pg 33. Another member had a similar issue recently with a Sony and this took care of the problem. The Secondary Audio can only be mixed in with the player doing the processing then sent out via PCM. I don’t know why this isn’t an option only when PCM output is selected and not bitstream.

Even if it's being sent via PCM, the player's doing the decoding and you're receiving the MA. It just doesn't show up on the receiver as such, just PCM.

As I recall, when I had an Onkyo 805 in order to get TrueHD and Master Audio on the display I had to go into the 805's setup menu and turn HDMI Audio Out to Off. Sounds counter-intuitive but it worked.
