Yes, but it would move the loop to outside of the power strip. I think that would kill it. I suggest a different plug altogether. But in my setup the sub is in front while everything else is in back. So it's much easier. Ground loops are a part of life in Subs.

Many ground loops are caused by not having things plugged into the same outlet because there can be a different voltage potential between the two grounds.

Watching a movie /HDDVD at -20 db,there is only one green led coming on pretty regular at each output, and maybe two at the most light up at the input pretty regular, does this sound like its working right ?? ON the DCX.

I guess my next step is to do the fan mod cause its loud for sure, and figure out how to get a clean signal from the HD Box.I'll laminate these and get the pics posted real soon.

your easiest solution may be a ground loop isolator that is used on the incoming coax feed to the cable box. There are a few available. I know axiom sells one thats about 50 bucks.

No, the cleanbox is made for converting XLR to rca. Its meant to be installed between your reciever and the DCX.

Since you have discovered that the cable feed coming in is whats causing your ground loop you want to stop it at the source, Which is why I reccomend the ground loop isolator for your cable feed line.

There are other things you could try with regards to grounding your cable line but frankly just getting an isolator will be the easiest for you.

Cable cos. are notorious for bad grounding.
There should be a cable grounding block at the point the cable enters your house.
A ground wire should go from there to the ground system at the service entrance.
Those connections may just need to be cleaned up.

While the 'ground lift' devices do work, they aren't the safest way of ridding loops.

Thanks to all of you guys for your post and response to my issues I really appreciate all the input I actually just came in from outside, it was another fantastic day out there.I will first look at the ground at the cable feed from the pole tomorrow then take it from there .I just put the sound back to the TV when watching cable for tonite since the Rca digital is no longer connected to my AVR and wont be until its right.Have a great nite everyone. :) .

I apologize for the inaccurate information. I was unaware of this.

You should have each source connected to a single ground not multiple grounds. Apparently someone was offended by the information. Must have been an EE. ;)

The main cable block has a new ground but the multi cable block after that does not so I put a ground out of a 220 line leftover from my oven hookup, from the multi block to the main block which then goes to the same ground as the service cable. However as luck would have it the comcast guy was across the street giving the neighbor a triple play package I told him about the hum and he walked over to look at the obvious, the same ground I just fixed,he said the ground was right and the piece I just put on is not needed but I'm leaving it.Well anyway he wouldnt come in the house to hear the hum since there is not a service call,,but he gave me a brand new part he just put in his van ,he had 36 of these in an egg carton box and I got the first one,its a three inch cylinder, only writing on it is MDR made in china he said its for ground loop distortion I put on the cable at the wall then attached a 12 inch piece of cable with factory ends instead of my own hooked it to the back of the motorola digital box guess what the hum is gone...that simple I guess.

I hear that. The damn upgrade bug is whispering in my ear about some JL Audio 12w7 to replace the Kappa's but I'm totally happy with the performance as is.
