I still think the Denon would save him money and fit his purposes more. It sounds like hking wanted to listen to Vinyl in 5ch stereo, something the Mapletree couldn't do.

BTW hking, why the interest in tube amps? Did you fall in love with their sound at a dealer recently?

.....I learned some stuff there also....I had no idea there was a way to convert a phono signal from low impedance to high for input into an auxiliary....Clint don't hand out this Samurai tag lightly......

.....but I will say this, HKing....if you want to go a tubed pre-amp and 5-7 channels of tubed amps, not only will you have a hole in your savings you could drive a truck through, but you might find yourself warming in your pants as you listen to the system....warm is good to a degree, but some brightness is a must, imo, for live presence, and that's what we're all after....

.....if you're just getting into this audio thing and going off what others have said, you COULD, be not that thrilled with tubes throughout....I would follow Jaxvon's suggestion and consider a quality surround receiver with processor built-in....hopefully someone will suggest some warm sounding ones and warm sounding speakers also.....

.....but HKing, don't you dare buy anything, without letting HKing's ears have the final vote.....

Thanks for the compliment Mulester...but it's just a post count thing. Once I went over 1000 posts, I got the Samurai title. You would have it now too, had your post count not been reset like 4 times.

.....Jaxvon, my count would probably be around 450, I don't know, but that doesn't matter to me....I am thrilled to see so many posts/questions from new members with low post-counts, receiving quick answers with the correct demeanor cast....that's what makes this site what it needs to be, imo......
