You're quite welcome, it was fun and I'm looking forward to their next level offerings that Nick mentioned will be coming within the next few months.... -TD

I need to buy a 7.1 set of speakers, and it looks like this company could have what I need, but i can't find a phone number for them on the website anywhere. I tried the email option, and asked for a phone number, but the response that I got seemed very generic and never addressed my concern/request about a phone number. If this is any representation of how warranty issues would be handled then maybe it would be best to steer clear of them.

Not sure I follow, do you have questions about their speakers or just want a phone number for them? -TD

it would be reassuring to know that if I purchased, and had a question, that their would be someone that i could ask. Also i am going to drive them with either a hk 247, or a Yam v663, and wanted to inquire if that would be too much amp for these speakers, and in addition requesting a 7.1 package of their various product lines. A 5 yr warranty, and free return shipping sounds good on paper, but if no one is available to ask questions, or ensure satisfaction, then it very well could be meaningless. Imho, it would help for a new company, boasting a grand opening, would list a phone # so that a question or two could be addressed. The email that I received from them was so generic that I thought it was spam.
This is a new set up/install with a sony 60a300, and a 7.1 avr and speakers. I , and I am sure others, feel that I am throwing thousands of hard earned $$ at the small part of my life that a televsion occupies. Fine,... though I would like to know that whomever I am tossing that coin to is concerned that I am satisfied, and willing to answer a few questions..

I understand your concerns and I am surprised they do not have a phone number listed on their site. However, knowing this is a startup company and is very new to the game, I'm sure they have a limited staff and likely don't have someone dedicated to phone support at this point. Personally I find communication via e-mail much easier as I can ask the questions I need and follow up if necessary without being tied up for a lengthy period on a phone call, but I realize not all folks operate this way. If you feel their customer support didn't answer your questions to a satisfactory level, you may want to see if you can contact their general manager directly, Nick Valente. He's been here on the boards a little, but not terribly often, though he's been very straightforward and open on questions regarding TSC and their product offerings. Check to see if his e-mail is on TSC's website under the 'About Us' section.

As for the HK 247 or the Yamaha RX-V663 being too much for them to handle, it's doubtful. As you can see at the bottom of my review in the equipment list, I was using a Sunfire Cinema Grand 200x5 amp to power them. While I didn't drive them terribly loud, they did well w/out exhibiting any audible compression driven up to about 85dB on average. Besides, rarely is too much power an issue, not enough is typically where you run into issues... -TD

Thanks. When I tried the email route I wasn't impressed with their response, as I mentioned eariler, though I can try again.
Thanks again for all input.

Call D&M Holdings, they will most likely patch you through to TSC, or the very least give you their number.

at the prices offered by TSC, I don't think it's fair to expect a lot of "hand holding" and tech support for something as simple as budget speakers. That's what their very generous 30 day trial period and FREE return shipping is for. Rather than listening to what someone else's "opinion" is, just try them for yourself, in your own home and with your a/v equipment. The lack of a telephone number these days is probably a blessing. I really don't want to waste time on the phone with "Bob" in Bangalor India as he tries to convince me he has a clue what he is talking about.......

Hey, just came across this review through the avsforum site and just wanted to leave a quick reply. I have been looking for a quality, but affordable in-wall speaker setup for my home theater and came across TSC. I contacted them through their 'About Us' page and received a very quick response. I sent an e-mail real late, about midnight on a Saturday and received a personal response from the owner of the company within 12 hours. We sent a few e-mails back and forth regarding speaker placement, his suggestions for speaker sizes, getting the most out of in-walls, etc... His name is Nick and he posts every now and then at the avsforum.

Anyways, I'm impressed, just thought I would pass that along for anyone wondering about this company's customer service.

Another Review of TSC P5 & P6

Still trying to decide about giving these speakers a look. I found another reviewer taking a look at them at soundadviceblog.com. He just started his review so hopefully it will be completed soon.

With free shipping and free return shipping, I can't see why you wouldn't give them a test driver yourself.

While it is nice to get some feedback from others, speaker preference is so subjective it's almost a necessity to listen to them before buying, which is what you can do with their free shipping/free shipping return policy

Give them a shot, you really don't have anything to lose... -TD

Did you get other speakers from the same product line or just the P6-PR? I'm looking to get a 5.0 set to replace Yamaha satellites in maybe around 6 months time.

How would you compare this product to other satellite speakers from known name brand companies? :)

EDIT: Would you highly recommend their newer TSBL line of speakers compared to the xx-PR series even though they are higher in price? Are the TSBL shipped in pairs also as with the P6-PR?

As you noted, I did review the TSBL bookshelf speakers from TSC here. If your budget allows you to stretch for the TSBLs, I would suggest doing so.

TSCs offerings are on par with other more well known speaker manufacturers, however because they are only ID (internet direct), they have very little marketing which is likely only word of mouth and other internet sources, so you're likely to hear much less about them than what you would typically hear about from a brand sold in a B&M (brick and mortar) store. One of the advantages of this is they can minimize additional cost which allows them to produce a solid speaker for an excellent price.

In the P6-PR line of speakers, TSC seemed to focus mainly on a decent budget speaker, very little in the aesthetics department. As for the TSBL line, they have made improvements both sonically and aesthetically. As for how they are shipped, whether in pairs or single, I believe their web site will state how they are packaged and sold.

I'm sure I've stressed this in this thread and/or the other, but they have a free shipping both ways 30 day money back guarantee. The beauty with that offer is there is absolutely no risk to demo these in your own listening environment. If you don't like them, they pay for return shipping, very few companies will provide that option. The only thing you're out is the time you've spent setting them up and listening to them, which to me isn't necessarily a hardship. :)

I would give these serious consideration if you are on a strict budget or are looking for a good price for performance speaker... -TD

compared to polk monitor series

How would you say these compare to the Polk monitor series?

I'd say for performance and build quality, these compare well with the P30 or P40s and considering they're about half the price have the no-hassle demo option, I'd say they were a no-brainer if you're considering the monitors.

The TSC P6-PRs seem to be very similar to Polks T15 bookshelfs, though the P6-PRs have a 6.5" woofer while the T15 only have a 5 1/4". If using these as stand-alone monitors, you might be able to discern the difference, however being used in an HT 5.1/7.1 setup, I doubt it would be. Again, with the price difference being almost double, I'd have a hard time going with the Polks.

If you were to consider the difference for the Polks, I'd suggest the TSC TSB or TSBL bookshelfs that still currently come in under $100. Their performance I can almost guarantee you would surpass that of the Monitors or T15s... -TD

Im sorry I should have been more specific. I was wondering how they would stack up with the monitor 50's for floors compared to the TST1's because they are the same price currently and also the monitor 30's in comparision to the TSBL's because they are also the same price. Would the TST1's and TSBL's be alot better or pretty similar?

No problem, I thought your question was directed towards the P6-PRs.

Having written a review on the TSC TSBL bookhshelfs (see review here), I would prefer it over either of the Polk Monitor bookshelf models. As for the Monitor 50 towers compared to the TST1s, I don't have any first hand experience in direct comparison, but if the TST1s are anything like the TSBLs (which I imagine they are, using the same components in a different enclosure), I would also prefer the TSC towers also. -TD

I have heard that you are reviewing the TST2's. Do you have a thread for this? And if not how is it going?

I am not reviewing any of the TSC towers, however I believe Tom Andry, one of the Audioholics staff, is reviewing some of their towers, not sure where they are on that... -TD
