TrueHD won't fit on HD DVD

Paramount Studio said that they had to put just the Dolby Digital Plus soundtrack on the Transformers HD DVD movie because the TrueHD would NOT FIT!

I HATE HD DVD!

I say put less stupid extras on there that nobody watches anyway, and use the space for TrueHD, or start using 50 gb HD DVD discs.

51G is approved, but there are no releases scheduled for that format yet.

what is the problem with releasing new titles on the larger discs and including multiple audio formats and other extras? Either way, I'm sure the Dolby Digital Plus track will still sound better than the standard Dolby Digital 5.1 track on the regular DVD release, which I'm going to assume will still sound pretty good.

Ditto. I rarely watch the extras except gag reels on comedies (I know, a guilty pleasure:D).

But, in saying that I doubt 99.9% of people will notice a difference between DD plus and True HD.

Considering you only have 28 HD DVDs (including Transformers)
Then, just sell the XA1, as the above poster asked.:p

Currently, I have to much invested, (in both formats), so I will not go without, specially for a audio format that I can not even use. (and have been happy without, for MANY years)

Or if you are that mad, at the particular disc not having the all mighty sound track, you want.
Sell Transformers.

I think, I'll keep mine.:D

For the number one box office movie of the year, I just can't believe they would not go all out for it! What a shame.

But no, I will continue to keep HD DVD.:D

By the way, Transformers got 5 stars out of 5 for Audio even with DD plus.

And I quote from the article:

Note that although I'm giving this audio mix five stars, that doesn't mean I agree with Paramount's decision to forgo high-res audio on this title. Without a TrueHD or PCM mix to compare this one to, there's no way of telling how much better such a track might have been, but based on the upgrade I've seen with other titles, I'm guessing a high-res mix could well have trounced this one. That's not to take anything away from this truly exceptional mix, but this is one case where I think you truly can improve upon perfection.

Just to point out that the author of the review wasn't entirely happy with the track as well and rated it according to it being a DD track not comparing to possible HD counterparts as that is not entirely possible.

So, maybe you should sell me your HD DVD player, I don't have one yet ;).

Transformers was 5th for 2007..behind Shrek3, Harry Potter, PotC and Spiderman 3.

That's funny, according to box office gross, it finished 3rd.
Either way it is rated higher than all those movies, according to the votes.

So, world wide it was 5th, but 3rd in the US. I never had any interest in seeing transformers at all, and I used to like them as a kid (I still have a few in a box in the garage). It was a rental from the first teaser trailer for me.

Can you IMAGINE the cajones it would take for hi-def formats to start coming out with second-release "Special Editions" of their movies already? I would die of laughter if they were that stupid.
Well, I can think of one already and it comes out tomorrow: Full Metal Jacket Deluxe. Based on reviews, I didn't pick up the first edition so I will be picking this one up.
