Given the scale of the economies, Canadians view this as a David vs Goliath scenario. The only way to have any meaningful impact is to try and affect as many sectors as possible and hope that voters complain to local representatives. Most of the anger currently seems to be about social security and medicaid, though, since access has been curtailed and wait times have increased to hours and sometimes days.
We already had a local supplier shut down due to the tariffs. They were suppliers for the VW battery plant being built near St Thomas, ON. That is a multi-billion dollar undertaking and if VW puts the brakes on that it will have a big impact on the local economy. And yes, people will get angry over that.
