I'm 27, but if I was 60, I'd kick your *** right now for making a comment like that. :p
Seriously dude, the guy's older than dirt. Anyway, I was just venting as I'd just gotten off the phone with about 10 different Wal-Mart's; all sold out.

But I ended up getting the A3 at Best Buy, thanks to Gus, and the A3 was the one I wanted anyway.

Now I just gotta get an HDMI cable. Unfortunately, I want to use it this weekend, so I don't have the time to wait for Monoprice.

Went to the 24hr Super Wally World just before 7 this morning. Went straight back to the electronic section. Was only number 9 in line.

Ended up getting the laptop, HD-DVD player and the plasma

Good way to start a weekend :D

If you don't have room for all these electronics before your move, ML....you know where to send the stuff for safe keeping. :D

Try Bluejeans, they usually get me stuff within 2 days, but if you call they can probably get one out quicker. I won't get my player until Monday looks like.

One guy here at work got one on his way in this morning. I think I'll break into his car and take it. The guy's like 60 years old. He probably couldn't even tell the difference between SD and HD. Oh well.

I don't shop at Wal-Mart, so I guess I don't know the protocol. I guess you gotta get there right at 8am when they open. I didn't realize that so many people knew about the sale.
Uh, I'm over 60. You wanna take that outside with me?!

LOL.

What did the plasma end up being? I never saw the specs, just Sanyo 50" I think it was.

Went to my Super Center today as well and they had two left on the shelves. I got one as soon as he told me where they were.

Stopped at the local Walmart today.
They had plenty of the HD-A2's in stock.
The sign read $185.00.
I asked the Walmart electronics guru:rolleyes: what the deal was.
He rather sheepishly told me that the Wisconsin stores, due to state law, were not permitted to sell the players under cost.

Can anyone confirm this BS law?

For a hundred bucks I was going to take the leap to HD-DVD. For 2 hundred; not so much.

Damn I'm mad.

What???? That's really weird, considering I'm in Indiana.
And under cost how? Everyone else is doing it! :D

To those who missed the deal....

I bought a couple of extras for my fellow Audioholics that could not find them. If you still want one, you can PM me. One of the local Wally Worlds still had a whole gondola end full of them tonight on the way home:confused: Guess folks down here in SC may still be behind the times after all:eek: Well, some of 'em, anyway.:p

Without question, that blows. On the bright side, you all do have some good cheese up there. :)

Duke,

You should really buy a bunch of them. The A3 replacing the A2 won't work as well with older receivers as far as audio goes that don't have HDMI inputs.

I'm just wondering how the 5 free DVD's would work when your receipt shows one state, and the person ordering them is from another. There may be a one household limit on the free DVD offer. Any ideas?

Offer is one per family, household, or address. Stated clearly, in very fine print of course, on the dvd order form. Hddvd choices are limited but free and I like free.

Hey, Buckeye. Not sure how it would work. I bought them on separate tickets so there would only be one per recpt. I thought about buying a bunch, but figured I could go back and pick more up if needed. I asked the sales guy how long the price was good. He was not sure, but thought it was good until Sun. I only picked up a couple extras for the good folks here if someone missed out.
I got copies of the free offer as well.

Wow, just until Sunday? If they would keep on this deal, I seriously think that HD-DVD might win people over.
