Got this Amp - TOA BG-1120 MIX/AMP, brand new in box, it appears that its meant for an office or more of a background/foreground music as description states. Im new to audio systems but i'm trying to assmble a nice home stereo system. Getting Onkyo TX-SR705 receiver, got onkyos fm tuner, and cd changer as well. Haven't decided on the speakers yet, but really wondering if this amp worth using for a home system, and is it good to power anything. Is there a point in keeping it and are there any more useful alternatives ? Thanks

This unit wouldn't be of any use in a home stereo..it's a mono unit with rather poor frequency response (50Hz-20KHz +-3dB!...probably 3dB down at 20K.) They're useful for small office background music/paging systems, and that's about it.

Know any dentists? :D
