thinking of getting this for christmas for my fiance. is this unit a good idea? i thought it would be perfect, it comes with Basic Tivo (which of course is free for life). the reviews make it seem the best as far as features, paying for Tivo is optional, etc. is this the best one that does not record HD?
do all Tivo units that record HD force you to pay for the Tivo service?
thanks for your help. i was thinking of getting a Pany DVR, but all the non-Tivo DVR's I've come across use Tv Guide. from what i've heard you dont want one with TV guide instead of Tivo.
