Think before you post, gentlemen. I don't have time to babysit. Far easier for me to just hit that "ban" button.
No one is trying to convince you otherwise :D

Wilson makes a nice speaker.
I have to give a vote to Altec for nostalgia folks and early technology.
Martin Logan for electrostatics and one hell of a subwoofer design program.
Revel has some nice speakers at the upper end.
Bowers and Wilkins is always up there too.
I have to give Klipsch the best bang for buck vote and for those who like the horn sound.

The other speakers listed earlier by other readers are also fine pieces.

Way to get things back on track. But, I didn't see Axiom's in your list...?

Axioms are a great buy for the price, but they are by no means the top of the heap. Not even close.

I didn't really think it was but then I saw Klipsch in the list, which I didn't think was in the top tier of performers either. When "bang for the buck" was mentioned, I would vote for Axiom's over Klipsch any day!

Is there actually a 'ban' button?

As for the speakers I'd buy were money no object, simple; B&W's nautilus. ±0.5dB baby yeah!

Don't count-out the 800 series. They do-it for me.;)

Wow, those Nautilus speakers certainly do look nice, and quite unique which should be obvious. I have to agree they do have a little more finesse. On the other hand I've only heard the 800's and they certainly do sound nice. But as for the Nautilus speakers, how much do they cost?

Last time I checked, the MSRP for Nautilus was US$40,000/pair. B&W has removed price info from their website.

What about all those $10,000+ ribbon and planar speakers? I was thinking of looking for a show so I could hear some just for fun.
Go to a best buy store that feature the "Magnolia" home theater rooms. Listen to these Martin Logan speakers that retail for about $1500 ea. Sorry don't know the model # In the sweet spot, I haven't heard anything more open - at any price. Unbelievable sound. My wish would be 3 pairs for my HT room. :D
