Speaking of generators.....

I have a huge complaint about the generators on the market. The darn gasoline tanks are too small. Somebody is conspiring to put tanks on the generators that hold only enough gas to operate the generator for about 10 hours. Which means more than twice a day somebody has to stop the generator and refill the darn tank. Since the generator is going to sit in one place, why can't the tank size be larger ... say 18 hours of run time, or gosh darn, even 24 hours of run time?
Yeah! I keep having to fill up my generator.

What am I supposed to do? Use the power lines?! PHHFT!

If you had a big tank of gasoline or whatever, you wouldnt have to pay the power bill, at least!

You do realize that most generators on the market are not "continuous duty" rated? They aren't meant to run that long.

There are a few portable generators that are continuous duty rated, but you pay for that luxury. (and they weigh a ton)

Besides, the last couple of years after the hurricanes, you couldn't get gas. My generator (8.5kW) runs for about 8 to 10 hours on 5 gallons of gas. I ran my generator once a day just to heat up the hot water heater and keep the refridgerator cold. I have 25 gallons of gas can (plan on buying more). That's only five days of fuel. The lines at the gas stations were (no kidding) 2 MILES long and they would only sell you 5 gallons at a time.

The best bet is to get a built-in natural gas generator. They are continuous duty and you don't have to make the dreaded gas runs.

I think it's fertilize. The neighborhood dogs do a great job on my lawn since I live on a corner.

I use Scotts with Halts crabgrass preventer in the spring, then 6 weeks later a liquid Ortho spray that hooks up to the garden hose that knocks out weeds - especially those pesky dandelions. I've found the spray to be much better than the granular, as long as you avoid rain.
I am with you all the way. The spray is much better then the granular when it comes to a weed killer/prevention.
